Remarks

Vidya Institute of Fashion Technology's B.J.M.C programme- PROS- well educated and experienced teachers, fully equipped studio for practical teaching, workshops and industrial visits, sports facilities, green environment of the campus, nice and hygienic cafeterias and good reputation. CONS- haven't discovered any in the past 2 years. The admission process is done through CCSU's admission portals and right now admissions are being invited.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is in accordance and affiliated to CCS University and brings out knowledge and wisdom pretty well. We have 5 teachers to look after different subjects and aspects of the field for our batch which consists of 18 students. The faculty members are experienced and carry a friendly attitude. Teaching is done in the classrooms as well as in the field. The exams are semester wise and if you're a good student then it's easy to obtain good marks.

Internships Opportunities

4

Students are provided with Internships that provide great exposure and experience to enhance their skills and give them a taste for industrial level expertise. In my course, we are often referred to publication houses and have produced a few short films along with news shows and radio shows.

Placement Experience

4

The campus provides for placements in top companies and firms like TCL, WIPRO, HCL, VANS, ETC. Students get an average package of about Rs. 400000 p.a. if they are worthy of it. The campus has a separate cell- J.S.M( JOB SKILL ABD MODULE) which looks after the soft skills and overall training of students to provide everyone with great placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for my course, i.e. B.J.M.C is- Rs. 52,000 per year and studious students can get scholarships and fee waivers according to their 12th board's percentage.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus life at Vidya is great. We have 3 main fests annually apart from fresher's and farewells. The three fests are Nirvana ( the annual feet which lasts for three days and consists of various competitions, talent shows and star nights), the Kala Utsav( an annual fest to showcase creativity and artistic talents) and the Infinity ( annual Fashion show which is done in collaboration with IFTI). There are separate libraries in every block which house many books for all courses and interests. Also, we have various grounds for different sports, like cricket, football, basketball, golf, tennis, volleyball, badminton, and a separate complex VIDYA INTERNATIONAL SPORTS ACADEMY which provides for more than 20 sports and a professional swimming pool.

Placement Experience:

80% students are placed through DME with a package of 5 LPA to 7 LPA on an average which is quite decent for a fresher entering the industry. The top recruiting are for placements are Bharat Express, PR Guru, Amar Ujala, Dynamite News, T.H.E.M.E.S. Over 90% of the students were placed for internship in Amar Ujala, PR Guru, Aaj Tak, ABP News and Doordarshan. Top roles offered are journalist, content writer, anchor, film maker, and back end roles like video editor, graphic designer and many more. I personally plan to go into video editing after getting the degree.

My main aim is to become an automobile journalist that is the aspect that influenced me to choose this course. As faculty is really good in teaching and timely providing notes as it really helps students to learn effectively for theory exams and concentrate on practical skills that are needed to secure good position in reputed firms in future

Placements of our colleges and mediocre. From 6th semester students become elegible for campus placement. The highest package offered was 6LPA and the average package is 3-4 LPA. Placement depends upon the students applying for placement through college. Many students gets internships or jobs by themselves before even reaching placement cell.

Students become eligible for placement during their final year of college. DME offers several different companies that it has tie ins with for placements to students such as Gadgets 360, Aaj Tak, Myntra, PTI and D&P. 70-80% students get a good placement package. My personal plan following graduation is to pursue my higher education in correspondence with employment.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course itself was nothing out of the ordinary material, it teaches you the basics of the field but the faculties were pretty good and helped us understand not just the basic but a little more so that we could actually be able to work in the environment once we get there. Also they organise workshops which was mandatory for all the students without any extra charge to learn from professional what to do and how to do it best. We also used to get projects which actually helped alot in learning with practice the theory.
