I opted for Panjab University Chandigarh as it is one of the most reputed universities in the nation. The infrastructure and cleanliness and peace-filled campus is a boon for students. It has a homelike feeling. The crowd is too good. One feels safe and sound on the campus and there's a placement cell in every department of it. Panjab University has won MAKA Trophy last year and is going to win this year too. Academics as well as sports and placements are way too good here. Many renowned celebrities and officers and leaders have studied here. Kalpana Chawla ma'am, PVC Vikran Batra Sir, Sushma Swaraj Ma'am, have studied here. Ma'am Kirron Kher has studied here. To sum up, I can say if you come here for a degree, you will get back crying. It's so heartful and lovely place

I am a defense aspirant and this course was totally suitable for me. I have learned a lot about strategic and defense studies here and also I've visited places that we're unable to visit if I weren't here. There are approx 150 students including Homeland security and Disaster management diplomas. We have a permanent faculty of 10 and research scholars approx 15 in our department. Weekly seminars with renowned generals from the Indian Army are conducted which are of great value. All the faculty is UGC NET qualified and P. Hd. Monthly internals is taken 2 times per semester. Educational visits are planned for more and more knowledge base. A trip to the Army Cantonment area in Bakloh was organized, where we used to stay in the Army's line area. I am so lucky to be a part of this department. The semester system prevails in the department and final exams are conducted every 6 months and are of moderate to difficult level as the teachers put their 100 percent in teaching.

Students are eligible for placement from the 3rd semester. In this particular course, defense journalism and Think tanks are the best-suited job opportunities. I am planning to get enrolled in the M. Phil or Ph.D program and to become a research scholar.

The cost of the study for a two-year master's degree is approx 20000 for both years and 2600 rs per semester for examination fees. Quotas are offered for Single girl child, Ex-army, navy and airforce personnel children and wards of battle casualties, and SC, ST and OBC. DEFENCE JOURNALISM is the best-offered job opportunity. Also one can opt for Ph.D.

Every year students participate in Youth fest in September. Programmes like NCC and NSS are well established in the University. Every year students go for National camps. Fests like SCITRON and many small scale programmes like athletic meets and fests like SCITRON are organised on the multi-department level. YRC units and blood donation camps are organised monthly as well as Student politics are a great variant in the campus. The annual athletic meet is held every year and we have got students who already played in national level sports. Decorated sports persons and academically top students are from the university campus. Student politics is maintained and elected representatives take care of every decision to be taken in favour of students.

There are 25 hostels on the campus, each having 600-700 students. The rooms are spacious and ventilated, all the amenities like fan, cupboard, and beds, table and chairs are provided. Hostels are equipped with fire fighting equipment and lift also. Two wardens and three to five assistant wardens are placed in every hostel. The canteen and mess are provided in each hostel. The meal cost is really low so that everyone can afford it. The mess are clean and hygienic. As soon as you get admission to the course, you're provided with a hostel.
