Ravenshaw University is one of the most preferred premier university of Odisha. It not only provides quality education but also provide a good study environment and we'll experience helps teachers and stats. It has well hostel accommodation for almost half of the students and has stations and bus stop nearby the college within 2 km periphery. Admission is generally carried out during July and application form are available in may after the declaration of board results. This year the process is delayed due to COVID 19 and form will be available after declaration of Odisha board results most preferably. Admission occurs in the very clean and secure procedure and the candidate is required to keep visiting the university website because there are no personal emails send nor phone calls. I choose botany due to my interest in it. The teachers in the department are highly qualified and experienced. Presently there is 10 regular faculty in the Botany department including 2 professors, 2 associate professors, and 5 assistant professors. Guest faculty are also there in every semester. Many of the faculty have postdoc degree and carried out research programs in the university. All teachers have their PhD from a well-known institution and quality of teaching is satisfactory as a govt institution. The internal assessment held in September in the odd semester and in march for even semester in every session and final term in November and April respectively. Papers are easy to moderate.

Every year many students are placed in the placement policy. The university has a campus placement cell to carry out the programs. Students from professional courses are almost placed in campus interviews. While considering the regular courses the no is relatively low.

Fees are very low for Bsc degree. They take 2750 during admissions and readmission fees is 690 every year. Exam form fills up cost 250 for each semester. They also provide scholarship with terms and conditions. Every year thousands of students are placed in placement but if you consider Botany stream very low student attend the interview as much of them are going for their master's.

A lot of functions are held in the university and there is a conference or seminar on every day basis in the convention centre of the university known as Ravenshaw convention centre. Every year the university carry out cultural fest including various competition and cultural programs. Every department celebrates Freshers farewell their annual functions and seminars. Hostel have also their individual programs. Puja is held in a commonplace in the open-air pandal. Annual sports are arranged every year with food stall competitions. Student takes part in the competition and enjoyed a lot. The university contains 2 library's the Kanika library and the central content library. The library contains almost all the books which you look for. The Kanika library is presently under maintenance and the other one is open.

There are 13 hostels in the campus itself. One has to apply for the hostels online after admission in the concerning course. The accommodation in the rooms and food quality vary from hostel to hostel, From single room to 6 seated rooms. The cost of the meal varies from 18 to 30 rupees per meal according to each hostel. There are a lot of private hostels in the locality for students also.
