Remarks
I chose MIT because of its reputed academic program worldwide. It also offers a variety of student projects and club activities that I found of interest. Its placements and alumni were particularly impressive and inspired me to join the program.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course structure is very good and they focus on theory, practical and research. Professors emphasised the importance of research and pushed students to take that as a career option. Exams and labs were frequent, labs were weekly and exams were in periods of three months. Days were easy because of the good outline of the course.
Placement Experience
A lot of companies such as HCL, Microsoft, Dell, Airtel come to the college to recruit students for placements. I did not sit in the placements since I wanted to go for higher education. Our college provides on campus internships. They don't offer stipend for writing research papers with the teachers but the intellectual value is much more valuable.
College Events
We have a lot of clubs focussed on specific interests such as arts, dance, music, sports, dramatics, debating, modelling, NCC, NSS et cetera. Each club keeps hosting a variety of events all around the year to keep people engaged. Clubs also go for various competitions in other colleges across India. Two major tests are hosted each year, Revels-the cultural fest and TechTatva-the technical fest. Students from all major universities participants in major events during the tests.
Campus Life
Our infrastructure is old but well maintained. The labs are fairly new and are renovated periodically. The entire campus is covered with internal wifi. Our library is divided into 5 sections and a digital library with over 4000 references is also available. The college has basketball court, tennis courts, gym, swimming pool, football and cricket ground.
