Shubhangi Arora's Review On Graphic Era University - [GEU], Dehradun

The various factors which drove me to took admission in this University are:- 1.Guaranteed top placements by mass recruiters. 2 Satisfactory infrastructure of the campus apart from the playground which is quite small in comparison with other universities. 3.10% scholarship for girl child and an additional scholarship on the basis of the aggregate score of the students in 12th standard. 4. Well educated and supporting faculty. 5. Well equipped labs and classrooms.

Course Curriculum. BSc Hons Food Technology comes under life sciences department. This programme is of 3 years comprising 6 semesters. In each semester there are 4 subjects out of which 2 are the main subject and rest are elective subjects. Labs and practical classes are held consistently. This programme is not that much upgraded here as it's the new course. The first batch came in 2017, so slowly and steadily the University is providing students with more and more facilities. By our time, it has grown way too much and yet growing up. Industrial exposure. An industrial visit is held in every semester. Currently I'm second semester student. In first semester we went to Selaqui Industry, dehradun. Several workshops are organised every semester to provide students additional information. Bakery workshop was held when I was in first semester.

In this year the first batch of this programme will get placements, hence no sure information I have regarding this. There are chances of Patanjali and Nestle to come for college placements. My seniors have done research in yeast used for wine making and their research paper is also published under the guidance of the HOD of our department.

Campus Life is enthusiastic and ethical here, student crowd is playful and critical. Ragging is strictly prohibited inside as well as outside the campus. Annual fest is held every year and eminent personalities are invited as chief guest. Students participate in events, corporate walk is also held which is very interesting. Other curricular activities are also held consistently by different departments on the college as well as department level. Each day is celebrated withi full enthusiasm, like World food day and others.

They provide 10% girl child scholarship and an additional scholarship on the basis of the aggregate marks of the student scored in 12th standard. Students can also study here on educational loans. Scholarship may continue if the student manages to score good in academics in the upcoming semesters.

Campus Infrastructure is quite good. Classrooms are non air conditioned which is quite problametic in the time of summers. Sports facilities are lacking here, there is only one playground that too quite small. Good WiFi connection is provided in each department. Library is well equipped, there are different sections for each type of books, also there is ample space for the student's to sit and study there. We are issued books well in time. Labs are well equipped and lab assistants are always there to help out students.

Hostel infrastructure is very well equipped, students are provided with all kind of facilities, gym and computer lab in hostel. Mess food is healthy and tasty. To take hostel, one needs to register as early as possible because seats gets occupied very soon.
