Remarks
Jogamaya Devi College provides enrichment to student's mind with its highly skilled and cooperative faculty in a peaceful atmosphere. The department of English Literature is gifted with professors dedicated to skilful teaching, understanding and expanding the students' borders of creativity. I'd like to express my gratitude towards them as they helped me rediscover my love for literature all over again. Almost every classroom is big and airy, and can easily accommodate over 100 students. I can assure that one will not regret becoming a part of Jogamaya Devi College. There is, however, a few downsides. The office staff is extremely rude and unwilling to cooperate with students in need. The food served in the cafeteria is very unhygienic. Due to a large number of students with Bengali medium background, students coming from English medium institutions may feel neglected.
Course Curriculum Overview
The department of English Literature is updated with our current syllabus and has also done thorough revision on each and every book. The professors are very cooperative and dedicated to proper mode of education that promotes excellence among students. I have been given the opportunity to expand my creative limits and think critically which is effectively different from rote learning.
Placement Experience
Since I am merely a student of Literature and Language, it is unfortunate that I'm not capable of providing an accurate answer to the question. Placement is not available in my department. I truly regret my incapability.
College Events
Our college hosts a variety of cultural programmes, including an excursion and a yearly fair. Last year, a cultural festival was took place in Ahindra Mancha, with the famous singer Rupankar Bagchi as the honourable guest who graced our stage with his presence and a live performance.
Campus Life
Our college provides WiFi with a limit of 35 MB. Apart from a central library, there are seminar libraries available for each department. A large air conditioned central library is available. The classrooms, although requires maintenance, are big and airy and can easily accommodate over 100 students.
