Remarks
It is the college of National importance, it has a very big campus, its NIRF ranking was in the top 20 which is dropped to 53. It is one of the best colleges for mechanical engineering. I opted for this course because of my interest.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is too old it needs to be changed it has more theoretical knowledge than practical. We have practical labs but very less and boring. We don't have almost any industrial exposure according to my knowledge. Faculties are very good to their knowledge almost every faculty have PhD degree in their respective fields but the only problem of concern is that they lack in skills of delivering their knowledge to students.
Placement Experience
There is a decent opportunity for placement for interested candidates. Many big companies like Microsoft, Infosys, Mahindra, tata etc visit our campus, last year around 650 students placed with an average package of 6 lacks. The Alumni network is not that good.
College Events
Campus life is full of fun we have many small technical and cultural events. We celebrate almost every festival. We have 2 main fest of our college which is the centre of attraction, 1st mindbending which is techno managerial fest of our college it is one of the best fests of Gujarat. 2nd we have sparsh which is cultural fest which is the best cultural fest of Gujarat but it is being cancelled from last 2 years due to some reasons.
Campus Life
The campus is very big its almost 350 accrue vast. It has many old and new buildings. Sports facilities are good we have sac ground which is the centre of all sports activities. We have common cricket and football ground we have 2 badminton courts, 2 basketball courts, 2 tennis courts, handball court, kabaddi and kho kho ground 2, we have volleyball court ib very hostel, we have table tennis in every hostel as well as a central court for table tennis, we have 1 central team and a small team in few hostels. We have a big library which is one of the best in all nits. The lab is a mixture of old and new equipments. But our campus in average compared to some other nits.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure is decent. We have a separate hostel for separate year students, so we have to change hostels every year. For 1st year and 2nd year, we have 2 shared room for 3rd year we have the option for 2 shared and a single room, final year students have a single room. Everyone can opt for a hostel we have many rooms, so it's easy for everyone yo avails of the hostel facility.
