As it is a NIT, it is a Institute of National Importance. The Placements of Computer Engineering of NIT Surat are better than any other colleges. The reputation of the Professors is also great. The culture of the students here is the really bright.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course is little outdated but from last year the course has been updated for the new coming batches. The college doesn't provide industrial exposure, we have to find internships through campus placement or we find on our own. The faculties are very good, namely Dr. D. C. Jinwala, Dr. M Zaveri, Dr. D. P. Rana & Dr. R. G. Mehta
Internships Opportunities
I am currently interning in J P Morgan Chase & Co. as a Software Engineer Intern. The stipend amount can't be discussed but its more than 40000/per month. Process- First is the coding & aptitude round, who clear it gets to Interviews, there are three round of interviews, first is the technical round, second is also the technical round and third is the HR round.

College Events
We have Technical Festival called MindBend. In that this year in 2020, we witnessed a crowd of 8000 students coming to the campus. We have a Cultural Festival called Sparsh, this year due to covid19 pandemic we had to cancel Sparsh, otherwise last year Sparsh witnessed a crowd of 10000 students. There are more than 20 Student Clubs in NIT Surat. I have been the Chairperson of ACM NIT-Surat which is the Coding Club of NIT Surat. As a student you will definitely join one of the clubs and enjoy your time their.
Fees and Financial Aid
Students with family income lower than 1 lac rupees get tuition fees waived. And Students with family income lower than 6 lacs but greater than 1 lac get 2/3 tuition fees waived. And then you can also apply for OPJindal Scholarship which is given to toppers from Electrical, Civil, Mechanical Streams
Campus Life
The sports facilities in the NIT Surat are amazing, we have basketball, tennis, badminton, cricket, handball, kabaddi, kho-kho and football grounds with Gym facilites. We have one of the fastest internet service in the campus. The Library of SVNIT has completed nearly 52 years and has built a large collection of books, journals and non-book materials. As the student of computer science, we have computer labs and all the computers are very much great. The new Labs are being updated with the new and better PCs
Hostel Facilities
NIT Surat has ample of hostel rooms for students so no need of PGs. There are 7 boys and 1 girls hostel. The Hostel is alloted every new academic year. Initially for the first two years (B.Tech) the hostel rooms are sharing. But for Last two years we get a single room
