The college is an epitome of excellence in teaching and research activities and has become the most sought after college by the students from Odisha and neighbouring states.The staff and students of this premier college bear a rare distinction in the matters of high level academic persuit,campus discipline and excellence in examination results. These are the factors which drove me to choose the college.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus model was updated for undergraduate courses as per Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) for the admission batch 2019-20 batch. There are 2 to 3 core subjects, 1 G.E subject and AECC subject in 1st and 2nd semester and SEC subjects in 3rd and 4th semester. There is DSE and project work in the 5th and 6th semesters.
Placement Experience
Being in the first year, our knowledge about the placement and job opportunities are less. The 3rd year students are taken to companies for industrial exposure and project work.Some of them performing well get selected for internships too. The off site placement opportunities are also promoted in the college.
College Events
The Campus life is amazing in the college. Students can opt for joining in National Cadet Corps (N.C.C),National Service Scheme (N.S.S) and Youth Red Cross (YRC) and start their voluntary service. The college annual function and annual sports followed by various competitions based on general knowledge, artistic and cultural skills are held every year. Students from any year of undergraduate course can participate in them.
Fees and Financial Aid
The following types of scholarship or financial assistance are available to the students as per Govt. guidelines: 1. Senior Merit scholarship for CHSE students securing 60% marks or above and whose parents annual income is less than 1lakh are eligible. 2. Senior Merit-cum-Poverty scholarship for students securing 50% marks and above and whose parents annual income is not more than Rs.24000 are eligible.
Campus Life
The campus is huge and houses the Science and Arts block alongwith B.J.B Higher Secondary School, B.J.B Alumni Association, Study Centre of IGNOU,a Post Office, a branch of State Bank of India, a Cooperative Store, Post Graduate Teaching Departments functioning in Self-financing mode by private educational agencies.
