Remarks
First of all my ranks in the different entrance exams were not too good to get me admission into any prestigious or government college. So, I decided I would go for a private college. We could only afford paying 1 lac to 1.5 lacs per year for my course excluding hostel expenses. There are not too many private colleges where you can pursue B.Tech in that fee. So, the list was already narrowed and I also didn't wanted to go to far from my home. I wanted to study in the same state I was living. The above reasons and a bit of internet search and that College RKGIT seemed good. So, I took admission there, also there were some seniors in the college from my school and they also told me that the college is good.
Course Curriculum Overview
I would say that the core subjects were good. There were bit extra subjects like Human Values and EVS which I didn't found beneficial. I think some of the core subjects like Data Structure and Algorithms needed more importance because these two subjects are the base and they are ver lengthy. They needed more focus. About the faculty, it's sad but only 2 or 3 faculties were good and knew what they were teaching. Others were just doing formality. There was too much focus on marks and less focus on learning. Also, it was all about theory, no real practical. wn benefits.
Internships Opportunities
I was trying for a internship but before that I got a job.
Placement Experience
There were a no. of companies visiting to our college and nearly all students of my branch got placed. The placement and job opportunities were quite good for CSE and IT branch. But, there was a lot more poll campus drives than placement drives for only our college. But that didn't matter much because atleast you are getting an opportunity.
College Events
The campus life was good, the extracurricular activities was also good but the events like annual fest or farewell parties could me organised better. Colleges of same level organised events a lot better than our college.
Fees and Financial Aid
There was a scholarship provided by the university, but I was not eligible to apply for that so I don't know much about that. What I do know is you can get a scholarship of Rs 60000 to Rs 100000 if you are financially weak by providing appropriate documents.
Campus Life
The area on which my college was built was quite large. There was good space for walking. But, the buildings were not very efficiently designed. Our CSE department(1st shift) strength was of nearly120 students of one batch. And the building was too small to fit all the students, whereas ither department's building which had less students than us was more larger. So, the infrastructure is not really well planned I would say but it's okay.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel infrastructure was good. One thing that I felt worst that the hostel wardens didn't listen to the student's complaints at all. They were all about following the Dean orders blindly, if a water cooler brokes, it's gonna take a week to be repaired. That's how the college authority was.
