Remarks
The availability of the geology course along with the helpful and knowledgeable faculty members for this course seemed to be in the best interest of mine in addition to the many referrals.Infrastructural-wise it might not stand out but the faculty is as best as you could get. The reason i took up this course is because it isn't that mainstream plus the field projects are an experience.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus is updated as per the calcutta university norms. The course curriculum can be a little problematic at times initially but you will catch on. As stated previously the faculty members are one of the finest especially the physics and geology faculty.
Placement Experience
Asutosh has a bunch of notable alumni and even the less notable ones they hold no less value to the present students as they have their referrals to offer. As for placements i haven't really heard much about other departments but in geology our seniors or even the professors help you get internship under their friends or even their own researches if they deem you worthy.
College Events
Sport events are held occasionally by the college union which is not that grand or of that sort but it focuses more on the cultural events and its yearly festivals which can get really loud sometimes. You can opt for many extracurricular cultural activities like dancing or singing or even beatboxing and you'll be welcomed with wide arms. Asutosh holds pride in its students inclined towards these activities. The campus life can get a bit boring at times but there's a recreational room you can spend your extra time in and i won't recommend you the cafeteria food, it's like any engineering college (no offense).
