Course Curriculum Overview

The syllabus is as recently updated as in 2019. Innumerable industries provide opportunities for internships and other industrial trips and are really really helpful. I would recommend Dr. J. Banerjee, Dean Academics, NIT Surat

Class Size: 80Course Fees: INR 400000 per year

Placement Experience

It is pretty good. The major technical companies hiring Mechanical Engineering students(core) are L&T, Appolo, Morris Garages, etc. The average package by the top companies is around 12 lpa whereas the average companies give around 6 lpa.

College Events

MindBend, the official TechFest of NIT Surat, was the biggest technical festival of 2020 among many NITs. The biggest attraction was RoboWars which had prize money of INR 100000 which promoted participation from best teams across the country.

Placements are good. Students are eligilble for campus placements from 7th semester. The highest package is 2100000 and the lowest is 200000. The median package is 3.5 to 4.5 lakhs per year. From last two years there was 100% placements but usually its 90%. I plan to pursue pg after this degree in either mtech or mba.

In our college placement starts from 7th semester and students are eligible from the 7th semester. The highest package is around 21 lakh and avg package is 3.5 to 4 lakhs(companies are tcs , tatvasoft , argusoft , IBM etc.) many students get placement like more than 50 % my simple plan is to get a good job from campus placement and do job after my graduation.

Honestly, i had applied so many NITs but due to my average score in JEE MAINS , i was getting only SVNIT and some Northen east NITs I did not choose other NITs as they are very far apart from my home state. SVNIT -The best for Transportation engineering

I chose SVNIT just because this is one of the best college for transportation engineering. Surat is the best city for seeing the development which is being carried out and a great infrastructure is also available. I had a very good jee mains rank and was getting in every nit and iiits admission in some branches but still i choose this because i had interest in coding and ai.
