Remarks

Sivanath Sastri College is one of the most renowned commerce college in Kolkata. And it is in the morning shift. I get a lot of free time to engage in other activities even after attending the classes. So this is very beneficial and one of the most important contributing factor for my admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

Sivanath Sastri College is known for it's amazing faculty. The professor's are very efficient but they hardly come to take classes in the college. Most of the time they're absent but when they come to our class they're diligent.

Class Size: 175Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Placement Experience

We have a placement cell and many companies do visit us and give job opportunities. Sometimes alumni come and hold seminars. Famous alumni include Indrani Dutta and Koneenica Bannerjee. Most of the alumni do not involve with the college after their graduation.

College Events

We have fests twice a year. Other than that we have Fresher's, then we celebrate Holi in college then we have fashion shows. We have dance. We have yearly one sports event where you can take part. We have seminars in college.

Campus Life

Classrooms are huge and has a seating arrangement for 175 students but the room has only 4 fans so it is very hot and sweaty in the summer. The building is very old and even my father studied in that same building. If you want an amazing Infrastructure then Sivanath Sastri is not your College.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
