Remarks

Well reputed government college for bcom(hons) and also had flexible timings. Since I am pursuing Company Secretary (CS) as well, the timings work very well for me. Also, all the good hangout spots are near my college ;)

Course Curriculum Overview

Course syllabus is average. Instead of theoretical concepts, practical exposure should be provided. Accounts faculty is good. Other faculties are okayish. However, all of the faculties are very chill and don't overburden us with homework and projects.

Class Size: 171Course Fees: INR 33000 per year

Placement Experience

I think TCS offers placement opportunities. Other than TCS, I am not aware of anyone else. You can't expect much from government colleges. As a fresher you will receive an average package to start out with and as you climb the corporate ladder you will achieve your goals :)

College Events

Yes you can participate in a lot of fests and inter collegiate events. The fest that the college holds is sub-par. However they have a good dance drama team so that is definitely a plus. Sports teams are good too

Campus Life

Average infrastructure. Since it's government aided, they don't bother much. A better clasroom and computer laboratory is recommended. The washrooms need proper cleaning up and renovation. Library is good.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
