Remarks

I loved commerce subject in school. I had taken up commerce stream in class 11 and 12. I loved marketing and other sales related portions so i took up commerce. Sivanath Sastri College is very good commerce college in Kolkata so i took up admission here

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are not that good. I hoped for a better set of professors but some like Debanjan Laha Sir is really good. We also had online classes during the corona situation so that the syllabus is completed

Placement Experience

Unfortunately we do not have a proper placement cell in our college but the college is trying to overcome this challenge but making us attend seminars. The alumni networking is also good. Some alumni are still a part of our college

College Events

The campus of our Sivanath Sastri College is not good. It is old and the building is really small. The classrooms are stuffed with students. In one classroom we have 175 students. Also the college has its own non political student union which organises fests and other events.

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.

Moderate College Life.

After HS I applied many colleges but I didn't got chance at the top notch colleges as they damand more marks than I got. After trying so many colleges I finally got admitted to this college.
