Remarks
It is a reputed institution that has been blooming for more than 59 years now. The placement statistics are excellent and the alumni network is also good. It offers B.Tech in nine branches. There are several clubs that are active throughout the year and help in the personality development of individuals. The campus is in the city which makes the connectivity easier.
Course Curriculum Overview
It is good. But students always require some kind of change and if you are really willing you can bring the change yourself. I'm talking about the curriculum, a few obsolete topics have been replaced with new concepts due to the efforts of our seniors and some new professors. The professors are well qualified and excellence in their fields, and you can learn a lot from them if you are willing to.
Placement Experience
Placement is one thing on which our college focuses the most. There are numerous companies that visit every year. The highest package that was offered this year was 50 LPA. The average package in computer science is more than 15 LPA. Students go in all fields, they've opened startups as well. One of our alumni is the co founder of Unacademy.
College Events
Campus life is okay. Initially, students have high hopes so that it may disappoint you a bit, but with the time you start liking your college, you'll make good friends, and you'll love those spots on your campus where you can hang out with your friends in the evenings. Extracurricular activities are excellent I think. There are several committees that you can join which will keep you involved throughout the year. I'm in my second year and I've been to IIT Kharagpur twice to represent my college in Dramatics. And I've been to IIT Bombay to participate in the Annual Technical Chemical Engineering Symposium. So yeah, you have opportunities if you want them. The college itself has many fests, technical, cultural, entrepreneurial, literary etc.
Campus Life
If you compare it with old IITs, it is nothing. I have been to IIT Kharagpur and IIT Bombay, and I found a huge difference in the infrastructure. I'd say my college lacks a little in this field. But yeah, there is some construction going on, recently they've built two 14 storey new hostels.
Hostel Facilities
Yeah, 99% of the students reside in hostels, 1% being day scholars. 1st year boys hostel is luxurious as compared to others. But government colleges usually do not have very good hostels. Ours are okayish. They've built two new 14 storey building for boys hostel and one other for girls as well. You'll enjoy the hostel life no matter how the infrastructure is, you'll adapt. I've seen people coming from different countries and adapting to the conditions and environment in college. Hostel fees are nominal. But yeah Non AC rooms only.
