Remarks
SMIT provides very good placements to renowned organisations. There is an incubation center named as Atal incubation center that helps in promoting startups. Teachers are very much experienced and qualified. Most importantly myself being a citizen of Sikkim, SMIT provides 30% scholarship for Sikkimese students.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is designed to make the students placement ready. SMIT includes all the advancements like AI, IOT, Blockchain as core syllabus or audit courses. One good thing in this College is the teacher-guardain scheme where faculties monitor students regularly. Faculty to students ratio is 1:15.
Placement Experience
The best thing about SMIT is placements in the companies like Dell, Wipro, etc. There are 2 basic wings that provide the work scope after graduation. One is the training and placement cell that helps the students to get job in one of the best companies. Other is the Atal Incubation Center which helps in entrepreneurship and startups.
College Events
Apart from Academics, if we see the SMIT calendar, it is filled all with Technical and cultural events. Technical events like Adhristha gives exposure to lot of students to showcase their tech skills in terms of coding, iot, robo wars, etc. Smit also hosts TedxSMIT every year. Talking about cultural programmes, SMIT conducts 3 days of annual fest, and every department has their own fest organised.
Campus Life
State of art infrastructure with a sports complex, library, 4 hostels, academic block, library, etc. The sports complex is termed to be the best in Sikkim that has indoor basketball court, swimming pool, gym, etc. Library is so huge that it contains 50000+ study materials. There is also a reading hall that has a seating capacity for more than 500 students at a time.
