Sivanath Sastri College is a highly reputed girl's college in Kolkata. it's known for its commerce section. I took admission in this college because i wanted to stay in kolkata only. Also it's a morning college so i can engage in other activities as well

Course Curriculum Overview

The teachers are very strict and they make sure we always attend the classes on time. Attendance is also calculated very strictly. The commerce division is very good of Sivanath Sastri College. The teachers are diligent and they make sure we understand everything that is taught in the college.

Placement Experience

The placement of this college is also very good. The college is old so we have many alumni who come and enlighten us about the challenges that are faced in real world. They ensure that we are prepared to face the harsh reality of the corporate life.

The campus is old and historic. The infrastructure is not that good because the building is very old. But the college is surrounded by greenery and has a beautiful garden. The college also has it's own non political student union. This union organises fests are other events

St Joseph's college a Decent one

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Placement Experience:

from 3rd semester, students become eligible for campus placement. Various Jewelleries company has visited, and even companies like Google, Tata and many has visited. As per i know the highest package were in lacs per month. The college provides 100% placement. After getting the degree, I'll do masters in business administration.

I did chose this course to learn more about accounting and finance and the cirriculum prepares you perfectly for the real world. The exams were conducted very soon in few semester only giving 3 months for the students to prepare . the professors were good at teaching and somehow used to complete the syllabus

SXC is invaluable to me!

Placement Experience:

Highest package of our program has been 20 lakhs. Companies like EY, DeShaw, ITC, CESC and many others which are multi billion dollar groups were the ones which are invited for placements. Batch size including morning and evening is of 400 students and nearly 200 gets placements in dream companies. Roles of business analyst and accounting are provided and SAP is taught in our college so those who know that gets job easily.
