For a research oriented career, shiv Nadar University provides the perfect environment for detailed learning and hands on training which is vital for a successful career. The extra one year provided to have ones own research project at an undergraduate level and the opportunities provided to become a part of an ongoing research project under a faculty, all aids for a well-learned career.
Course Curriculum Overview
Certain foundation courses were a little weak for fundamental understanding which made coping up with the advanced courses a little difficult. But we can see improvements in that sector as we speak. The teachers have been changed and there have been vital Additions to the curriculum.
Placement Experience
As my field is research oriented with requires higher studies. I am not very much aware of the placement procedure. But from what I have heard almost 95% of students who appear for placements get placed. Companies like google, Goldman Sachs, Amex, L&T and many other come and select a good lot of students. There is an independent Career Development Cell that helps the students with there CVs, interview skill and every other help that they require to successfully sit for placements and get selected.
College Events
All the extracurricular activities were available 24/7. More than 32 different clubs to be a part of. Every week had one or the other event by any clubs. Two major college events. One intra college fest and the other inter college fest (BREEZE)
Fees and Financial Aid
The college provides scholarship for every student ranging from 100% tuition fee cut. To 50% based first on your 12th marks and then your CGPA every semester. The School of Natural sciences provide full scholarship for the students however the scholarship for the School of Engineering the scholarship starts from 90%
Campus Life
The campus provides an all round extracurricular life with a complete segment of campus dedicated to sports life. Internationally accepted indoor and out door courts. Another 2 floored library functional from 9 am to midnight with a canteen and another 24/7 accessed study room.
Hostel Facilities
The university is strictly residential so everyone lives on campus. The hostel rooms are dual sharing and provides good living conditions with not much issues. There are common washrooms. Three on every floor. So roughly 1 washroom with 4 bathing and toilet stalls is shared by 12 students.
