Remarks

This college is known as the best college for arts in the city. It takes only the finest students which was a driving factor behind me selecting this college. The approach towards education taken by this college is quite novel. We don't have textbooks but have to rely on taking down notes and doing a lot of reading.

Course Curriculum Overview

My course has a very good curriculum which focuses on a practical approach rather than literary. we have plenty of projects throughout the year which makes it seem hectic. But if one has to evaluate at the end the learnings, one would realize that they learnt a lot through those projects. We also have industrial visits where we drop by radio stations, etc.

We have a placement cell in our college. I do not know much about this cell. This year, they offered internships at CitiBank which a selected bunch of students got through. Many recruiters did not come for internships this year due to the pandemic. We also have an Entrepreneur cell. As till now, no startup has been created by my batch mates

College Events

The people here are very welcoming. we have many festivals happening throughout the year. the most popular one is Malhar where different colleges compete with one and another. Janfest is also a big festival where popular Hindustani musicians perform for an audience.

Campus Life

We have 3 huge libraries which contain books of all genres. Wi-Fi is available throughout the college but it barely works due to overloading. we have a gymkhana where students can work out. Labs are also fully equipped. We have a computer lab as well which is mostly used by IT students.

Placement Experience:

There were cmapus placements but not very enticing. Since I already had a full-time job with BBC GoodFood India Magazine as i already cracked this job first in my college.

College for students who wanna Hustle

Course Curriculum Overview:

the timings are great for students who wanna work while studying, but that only starts in the SY because in FY there are lectures from 10 to 1, that will give youll time to enjoy as a student, where as in SY n TY lectures will be from 7 to 9

Course Curriculum Overview:

I will rate 6 out of 10 because the syllabus it has old information. The special aspect of the curriculum is about branding, strategy use to make strong brand in the market. The area for improvement in these curriculum is to provide student the proper software for technical or practical subjects. (like photoshop, indesign, etc.)

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because I want to be in the film industry. I want to become an actor. This course helps us to get aware of all the media industries. Be it films or television or even radio. Now, there are even more fields such as Public Relations and Event Management. There is an almost equal number of girls and boys. The faculty have industry experience and are well-spoken. They help us in each and every way possible. The use of presentations and modules is common. The learning process is fun and easy. The examinations are conducted in a semester pattern. There are a total of 6 semesters that are conducted on time. The syllabus covers a wide range of topics such as communication, films, photography, etc.

Placement Experience:

Form third year students become eligible for campus placement. Many reputed companies like times of India hindustan times visited our college and got various students selected based on their caliber. The average package here is a around 5-10 Lakh per annum. Only those students who are talented enough for any post get selected for particular job. I'm planning to do a internship in popular media House.

Remarks:

KJ Somaiya College is a very huge college and has a perfect system of everything. Proud to be a student of this college. They have extra curricular activities cultural forum fests and much more. They also have outdoor Games, athlete ground, hostels, 7 to 8 canteens. The teaching system is quite good they have compulsory 75% of attendance.

The Vibrant Life at St. Xavier's Mumbai

I applied to IIM Indore, St. Xavier's mumbai, TAPMI Manipal and I had given CET exam to apply for colleges in Mumbai. I did not clear the IPMAT exam as I prepared only for 2 months, so I didn't make it to iim indore. St. Xavier's being one of the top colleges in India was my next choice. I also got into TAPMI Manipal but I chose Xavier's over it as the ROI was better. For admission in Xavier's you've to clear the Xavier's Entrance Test (XET) for BMS, BMM and BSC-IT. Post which you'll get a call if your name is in the merit list. Rest of the process is done in the college itself, where you'll be asked to submit your documents and fill out some forms. Campus life at xaviers

I choose Xavier's because the BMS course it offers is one of the best and is very affordable as well , I was comparing Xavier's with christ,nmis etc. the BMS course offered in their college is extremely expensive and not as reputed as Xavier's and the placements that they offers is not good as Xavier's as well,Xavier's also has a good alumini and good word of mouth than these colleges, as for the admission into courses like BMS ,BMM,BSC-IT there is an entrance test called XAT and we have to clearit, the weightage is 60% score form the entrance test 40% from board exam scores and the final round will be an interview after which it is decided if one is selected for the course or not there is a reservation for Christan quota in the college as it is an Jesuits run college...Read More
