Remarks
Quality education is the primary factor. SMIT has no compromise on the basis of quality in education. Another factor is the placements. Companies like Microsoft, Infosys, Dell l, etc hire students from our college giving an average package of 20 lacks P. A. The college has well equipped infrastructure that includes digital classrooms, Well equipped labs. Not only academics, SMIT also promotes extra curricular activities. It has a world class sports complex.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course syllabus are in sync with the recent trends. The faculties are extremely wonderful. We have a child parent kind of relationship with the faculties rather than just being limited to Teacher- students. The faculty I admire the most is the respective HOD Dr Ratika Pradhan. She works tirelessly to improve the quality of academics and help students with all sorts of necessities.
Placement Experience
The SMIT training and placement cell believe in quality placements where companies like Microsoft, Dell, Infosys, Ericsson, Shell, Wipro and many more hire students a quality job. SMIT also possess the first incubation center in north east (The Atal Incubation Center) by AIC that works tirelessly producing young entrepreneurs and startups.
College Events
There are a lot of technical events like, Tech adhristha which itself consists of 20+ competition including robo wars, coding, debugging, iot, hackathons, etc. We also have our own franchise of Ted talks entitled as Tedx SMIT. Every department bring up their departmental fests and a 3 day huge fair (The kaalrav) is hosted where stars like Nikhil D'Souza, DJ NYK, Sherly Seita, The Nalayak Band, etc have performed.
Campus Life
SMIT has a world class sport complex ( The Marena) equipped with a gymnasium, Swimming pool, indoor basketball court, lawn tennis court, Snooker room, Squash, and area many more sports. Our college provides us with 2 wifi networks, The TCS ION wifi and Jio net which gives ample speed. Our college has a central library of 3500sq m. The library contains 61000+ books where around 500 students can sit and read all sorts of books, magazines, journals, etc. The labs are well equipped with all sorts of equipments including workstations, Desktop computers, Laptops and many other equipments. SMIT also has a super computing lab with a Super Computer "Param Shavak".
