Shyamsundar Mitra's Review On Dr. B.C. Roy Engineering College - [BCREC], Durgapur

Good placement, good campus and as it is with an engineering college so other events where we can participate and hence a good college life and moreover course fees are way less than other colleges. They bring IT giants like SAP labs, Capgemini, Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Deloitte. Faculties are good enough and they try their best for every student to get absorbed in an Industry. The campus was big and well equipped with all modern facilities. This college is value for money with all any student can expect from a college and being in the last semester of the course I don't regret taking admission in any way.

We weren't given enough industrial exposure but the course is good to learn the basics of programming as it starts from the beginning and transforms us enough to be able to make projects of our own. Moreover, there are seminars by different industry experts which let us know how the industries work, which programming language they use, how the different parts of the industry work.

A lot of companies visit including SAP Labs, Capgemini, cognizant, TCS, Infosys, Deloitte, British telecom, Concentrix and a lot of startups to visit. In our batch majority of them willing to get placed have been placed. Many of us including me opted for higher education so we didn't go for any placement process. Placement takes place by the different process according to company policy.

College life was in a single word awesome. Yes, there is tech fest or we can say technical fest with proper participation option for everyone willing alone with that cultural fest in which any student can participate. Other than that Saraswati puja and other festivals are also celebrated in the campus.

Loan facility available from any bank. I think they have to tie up with SBI or Axis for loans from college (not sure about loans available from the college or not). But yes if you go to any bank and apply for a loan with proper documents they would pass the loan as the college is AICTE accredited.

Wifi campus, more than enough labs available, an auditorium better than any cinema hall in any multiplex, departmental library as well as a big central library, cafeteria, hostel, canteen, gym, basketball court, the field for football along with cricket and they are maintained well by staffs. Cultural fest, tech fest and there are a lot more events that take place in this college.

No, I didn't opt for the hostel as I am from the same city. Hostel facility is good and not so costly. Hostel cost around 4000 per month with food. Pg is also available outside college campus which cost somewhere around the same ranging from 3000-6000.
