Anonymous's Review On IIT Jodhpur - Indian Institute Of Technology - [IITJ], Jodhpur

IIT's are the most prestigious college in the country. So why not, I dreamed of getting into an IIT and prepared for more than 2 years. I preferred CSE branch to others. So based on my rank in IIT-JEE, I got IIT Jodhpur cause I didn't want to compromise on the branch.

Course curriculum have been changed this year for the first time since the establishment of the institute. We have more courses than other IIT's. Earlier attendance policy was very strict - min 85%. This year faculty have increased. Until last we used to have 4 professors in the entire CSE department. Our former CSE head of the department was very experienced and he taught us in my 1st year. He left our college and joined IIT Tirupati.

Placement opportunities have been on the rise in the past few years. Many different companies have been coming to our college. Placement percentage of CSE is nearly 95%. Electrical and Mechanical branches have less opportunities hence their's is around 60%. Alumni network is very good as we already know some of them. They also help us in getting internships and placements at the companies they are working.

Campus life was good. Extracurricular activities increased year after year. Fests like IGNUS, Spandan etc are organised every year. We celebrate for almost every festival but only few students attend those programmes.

Education Loan is provided by the SBI. We have Sbi branch in our campus so it is easy for us to get the reimbursement for tuition fee as well as the mess fee. Various scholarships are there for those who qualify the necessary criteria like having annual income of parents less than 5 lacs etc.

Our campus area is more than 800 acres. It is still under construction but most of the essential buildings like Lecture halls, hostels, dining halls have been completed. Grounds are still under construction. We have wifi access in every building, even in the dining hall. Library is of 3 floors but have books in only 1 floor. Lab equipment is fine.

The infrastructure throughout the campus is the best. We have AC hostels, AC classrooms, AC mess even. Classrooms are of different sizes. Best thing is everyone has single rooms in the hostel. The walls of all buildings are made by some special bricks which keeps the interior temperature somewhat lower even in the blazing summer season of Jodhpur.
