Ashi Garg's Review On Bundelkhand Institute Of Engineering & Technology - [BIET], Jhansi

I chose this institute as it came under government colleges and I thought the education quality will be good. I would have gone for HBTU but my rank didn't allow me and my best option at the rank were BIET.

It wasn't updated till the year 2017 but in the year 2018 for the batches 2018-2022 and above the curriculum has been updated to current requirements like instead of C, students are taught Python and instead of complete theory based classes more practical knowledge is included as well as internships made necessary.

Only Optum visited our campus and although Capgemini was to visit, optum had such a bad experience with the Placement cell of our college that it graded the college a 'C' and Capgemini declined to visit the college. Optum offered Software engineer's post and a package of 7.5 LPA. We did start a new cell named "The drone learners" which is now government funded.

The campus life was good, just a lot of insects to deal with but the seniors made the experience with events, extracurricular activities, etc, enjoyable. There were all kinds of events like cultural events (Abhinandan and Utsav), sports (Prabhanjan), literary (Sopan and magnum opus), fine arts and hobbies (Kati patang, Mahotsav), there is a reader's guild for people who like to read a lot and many more.

I don't know of any scholarship given by the college. Although a senior of mine did receive an amount of 6000 INR for best grades in his year I have no idea if it was from college or the up government.

There is a central playground for outdoor games and a basketball ground especially made for girls hostel, a student's activities centre for indoor games and gym facilities, the library is open for 9 am to 6 pm daily and lab equipment have been newly purchased after a decade of old equipment.

Hostel facilities are not in a good shape, there is no effect on what students complain. I was the in charge of students union for our hostel for 1 year and no faculty used to pay any attention to what I said or what students needed. The warden only wanted more money for whatever changes we suggested and then he didn't even give me a certificate for my work as was promised.
