Remarks

It was my father's dream to see me as a doctor. And it became my dream too. I didn't get admission in any government medical College in the year I appeared for my board exams. I had to drop a year. I stayed in a pg and attended coaching classes following which I got a good rank. I always wanted to study in a college in kolkata. In the first counseling I got in NRS Medical College. I had opted for upgradation to Medical College Kolkata. The upgradation happened one month later after I had started my classes in NRS. I had already adjusted to the environment and started liking the college. Hence I decided to let go off the upgradation. NRS has a very student friendly environment. I did not face any ragging. Seniors were very friendly. Professors were very good and helpful.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The college course should be updated more. Since we deal in Medicine, I feel if we are taught from the latest journals and studies it would be very helpful. Otherwise the faculties are very good and competent. Talking of exposure, internship does provide us with very good patient exposure. But amidst the current pandemic situation our clinical postings are getting hampered. We are not adequate time to deal with non covid patients

Internships Opportunities

Internship at NRS Medical College, 28050 is stipend, internship is compulsory

Placement Experience

5

My college name is gitam institute of technology which is renowned as gitam university, it had a great staff and good infrastructure for the students need, it delivers good knowledge even in theory and practical examinations. It had many startup initiative programs, although I didn't attend any

College Events

5

Our college is culturally quite enthusiastic. We organise annual cultural festival every year named Ecstasy. It sees participation from all other colleges of the state both medical and non medical. Other festivals like holi, basanta utsab, doctors day etc are also celebrated

Fees and Financial Aid

My college name is gitam institute of technology which is renowned as gitam university, it had a great staff and good infrastructure for the students need, it delivers good knowledge even in theory and practical examinations, I didn't get any scholarship throughout my education

Campus Life

3.5

I'm not much interested so can't really comment on infrastructure which exists. But we do have a very extravagant playground. Library is very good. It would have been better if some books were given for home issue especially the costly ones which many can't afford. Lab is satisfactory

Hostel Facilities

3.5

My college name is gitam institute of technology which is renowned as gitam university, it had a great staff and good infrastructure for the students need, it delivers good knowledge even in theory and practical examinations, hostel was good and food was good

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
