Remarks
When I joined the university it's MHRD ranking was 15. And it was one of the best NIT back then. The infrastructure of the college was too good. The college campus is around 252 hectares. It is well equipped with every department, central library, well equipped labs. The placement is good enough. With Computer Department having 100% placement with a highest of around 39lpa and Mechanical Engineering with around 70% placement in a batch of 220, with a highest package of around 10lpa provided by John Deere and an average of around 6.5lpa.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course and curriculum was well designed, with each subject placed in a particular semester making the course balance. The faculty at Mechanical engineering is very good and cooperative. You may find the best of faculty here in SVNIT if you are planning to join Mechanical engineering.

Placement Experience
College has a TNP CELL where all the placement related process are carried out. One has to visit the CCC for aptitude exams of different company. People here are offered core department related jobs from research, to maintenance, coding, designing, etc. One call also get a job of marketing and business analyst as non core companies do visit the campus.
College Events
Every year there is a freshers night taking place for each upcoming batch, Gujarat being the Garba State, 2 days of celebration of Navratri, every year Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated for 5-10 days depending upon the exam dates. There is a technical fest named Mindbend and Cultural fest named Sparsh. These two are the biggest techno-cultural fest of the state of Gujarat. There is a celebrity night in the Sparsh event where different celebs join.
Campus Life
The campus is huge. 252 hectares of land. With different buildings and infrastructure for each department. Well equipped library and labs. You may find each and every book related to the course here. There is SAC ground in which all the sports activities are carried out. SVNIT has a well equipped gym, 2 basketball courts, a tennis court, badminton court, table tennis tables at each hostels and at SAC. If you are a sports enthusiastic, I would suggest you to join NIT, SURAT.
Hostel Facilities
Hostels are well mainted. First year one reside in Gajjar Bhavan, 2 year In Bhabha Bhavan, 3 year in Bhabha or Swami Bhavan and Final year in Swami Bhavan. For a female candidate from 1st to final year you stay in Mother Teresa Bhavan. For PG and PHD students there are different hostels available.
