KCET- rank - 3900, I chose to do mechanical engineering here as the department was well known at that time for its faculty.

The course curriculum is standard as with all other colleges under VTU. Refer the vtu website for detailed info regarding courses and electives. The courses upto 4th sem were compulsory for all. We had the option of choosing electives only 5th sem onwards.

No companies visited the college for internships. An internship was not even a part of the curriculum. Only the students who were interested did internships. Their on their own in finding the internships as well. So students with contacts in the industry end up getting internships and its very difficult for the other students who are not from Bangalore to bag internships unless they have strong network.

Most companies that visited the campus were IT majors like Tcs, wipro, accenture. The only core company that picked mechanical students from the campus was Cyient. They offered about 3lpa ctc. The IT giants also offered around 3.2 lpa.

Every department in college have their own departmental fests which go almost unnoticed. Very few students attend these fests. The inter college fest Kalanjali is held once a year in the month of November. The fest is honestly not something to boast about compared to the fests of the other engineering colleges in town. The most awaited events are the fashion show and the Dj night at the end of the fest.

The fee structure is standard as fixed by the government of Karnataka for all Cet candidates.It is about 40000rs per year .However, admission through comedk or management quota will prove to be lot more expensive . Comedk fees was around 1.4 lakh per year. Management quota students need to pay a donation amount plus the comedk fee.

The college does not Provide many scholarships. But there are few provided by the Karnataka government for the backward classes and economically weaker sections.

The hostels are very good. They provide both 2 and 3 sharing rooms. They are pretty cheap too and cost about 40000rs per year with food(approx) . Prices may have changed.

The alumni Network is very bad. It is very difficult to build a strong network with the seniors .The college doesn't have a Alumni cell as such . But most of the seniors I know are well settled in different parts of the world and are always ready to help.

The external exams are held in December and June respectively for the odd and even semesters. The lab exams are held just before the external exaMs. There are 3 internal tests in each semester. Out of which the average of the 2 best scores are considered to the total score.

The faculty of the mechanical department was considered to be one of the best untill 2011-2012. Most of the experienced faculty quit after this period. The department mostly has young faculty now. They are not upto the mark and most subjects were completely self study.
