Souvik Choudhuri's Review On Sir M Visvesvaraya Institute Of Technology - [Sir MVIT], Bangalore

The college is run by the Krishnadeverayanagar trust. The standard of education is excellent, the infrastructure is top knotch, the hostel facilities are good n wallet friendly compared to other colleges, placement is more than satisfactory. Overall if you are getting this college in comedk or cet counselling, u should not think twice. Only problem is mess food. Another shortcoming is that the college campus is not wifi enabled, however u can install your wifi in yout hostel 2nd year onwards.

I got a seat in this college based on my COMEDK rank which was 3877 with an overall score of 105/180. The college is of good repute and ranks 6th among the colleges enlisted under COMEDK entrance test.

The curriculum is as per the VTU syllabus. Courses offered are Computer Science, Electronics n Communication, Information Science, telecommunication, electrical n electronics engg, mechanical engg, civil engg, biotechnology and industrial management. Teachers are well qualified n helpful too. Labs are also well equipped. Infrastructure is very good. The college campus itself is huge with over 120 acres.

Internship is a good option in between 2nd n 3rd year the VTU centralised placement cell organises an internship program for which you can apply online.

Talking of placement, companies keep visiting the college round the year and placement is something you can be assured of in this college. All thanks to placement officer Mr. S.H. Khan. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Accenture, Infosys as well as core companies such as Honeybell, Deeshaw, Bausch, Amazon from our college. Average package from mass recruiters is around 4 lakhs per annum.

The inter-college fest of our college Kalanjali attratcts visitors from all colleges of bangalore. Skits are performed by the college's theatre club GAP, talent hunts are organised, battle of bands is there, fashion shows and many other things are organised.

Home state students are provided with scholarships however i dont have much idea about the scholarships provided.

Gender ratio is about 1:3 labs are well equipped sports like cricket, football, basketball, badminton, table tennis can pe played here. Students have formed many clubs in which one can take part n achieve success in extracurriculars, GAP, LEO, Patriotic club, DEBate SOCiety, QUILLZ to name a few.

There are 6 hostel blocks for boys, and 3 for girls. Hostel rooms are fine, with either 2 sharing or 3 sharing rooms. Freshers are provided with a separate block ample number of rooms are there for freshers. First year boarders have to pay a total of 55k for the hostel including mess charges. Mess food may seem good at the beginning, but starts detoriates with passing time.

Seniors are more than friendly and one will find himself always comfortable in the college campus alumnus keep visiting the college and inspires us.
