Remarks

IMDR is oldest B-School in Pune known for its ROI and old infrastructure and Alumni network. There is no better college in terms of ROI in Pune except PUMBA. Anyone who is even an average student but willing to do hard-work will be helped by the college to become a successful management graduate not only in academics and market but also in terms of overall personality development.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is designed every year by the experienced college faculties therefore not only it is relevant but also relative to current organization needs and market scenario. There are guest faculties who not only bring academic knowledge but also industrial experience. There are new case studies of known companies that enable students to work in a team and become corporate ready to deal with organizational issues. Examinations are not only academic but also based on a practical understanding of the students. Industrial visits are organized by the college so that students can experience the organization knowhow by directly interacting with them who are on the field.

Placement Experience

4

Placements in the college are decent almost all students get placed by getting ample opportunities. Majorly there is placement in the BFSI sector and for salespeople as it is the market requirement. Somewhere around 90% of students get placed remaining either opt-out to join their business or find their job. The recruitment drive begins in the third semester itself and the process involves company sending Job description with eligibility. Students who are eligible and interested apply and receive the offer letter once selected. Internships are also provided by the college to students so that they get exposure to working in corporate for 2 months. There are SPC (Senior Placement Committee) and JPC(Junior Placement Committee) formed by students and led by faculties to contact companies for placement and internship respectively.

College Events

4.5

There are various guest lectures and alumni meet arranged almost every alternate week for the students to know about the current market demands and solve student's queries related to industries. Other than those various cultural events like Ganpati, holi, traditional day, Garba night, an annual function is known as Tshitij is celebrated in the campus itself. Tshitij is the biggest cultural program organized once a year includes cultural and sports events which is a competition between juniors and seniors. Other than that there are freshers and farewell parties are arranged in clubs by students taking approval from the college every year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is quite reasonable as it is only 2 lakhs per year (including everything except uniform) compared to all other colleges in Pune. The fee is accepted through Bank Challan, Demand draft, and NEFT. The college fees are fixed there is no additional cost for anything other than college uniform which is around 3000 (Shirt, trouser, blazer, and tie) for males and 800(Saree and Blouse) for females. College does provide proper fee breakup with the fee receipt.

Fees and Financial Aid

I didn't opt for any Scholarship but IMDR is registered on National Scholarship Portal, therefore, anyone eligible can apply for the scholarship. Few students got a scholarship after applying for the same from my batch. Some of them got minority scholarship based on academic record after approval from college. IMDR don't provide any scholarship. It only does if any formality needed as documentation for approval of Scholarship. Education loan is available as many of my friends opt for it even one of the government bank is in campus only.

Campus Life

4.5

IMDR is the oldest business school in Pune. Its old infrastructure is the proof of its existence, the vibes of roaming inside the campus give the nostalgic feeling to all the students whoever were the part of IMDR. One is going to attach with the campus as students end up spending more time with each other on campus after working hours and also on weekend. You can meet college Alumni on the weekend who comes to feel the vibes of campus once they were part of. The college has around 60:40 male/female ratio and the most important thing is students are from different regions of the country which makes it a different hub of learning as they share their language and culture. There is a computer lap for different courses available within curriculum like (Excel & SAP) and other courses on extra charges.

Hostel Facilities

4

I didn't opt for the hostel. A few of my friends lived in the hostel for a year and they had good experiences during that time. IMDR has a hostel available in partnership with Fergusson college. They are quite affordable around 30000 for the year and 2000 for two times a meal per month. But only suggested for people who need affordable accommodation due to financial issues or who willingly want to experience hostel life as hostel have its list of rules. There are ample accommodation facilities available around college like Flats and PG's on rent within a range of 2-5km which are quite affordable in terms of stay as well as for having food.

Alumni/Alumna

IMDR has a vast Alumni network mostly working in the top management of known organisations of the country. You can simply check this by clicking on any top organization on Linked In, more often you will find alumni there. They are helpful if you can contact them and build a proper repo with them. Other than Alumni seniors are supporting more of a friend than senior always helpful be it an assignment or placement preparation.

Admission

I wanted to pursue an MBA without taking a year drop while searching for good colleges, I came across this college through Shiksha website. The factors which mattered for me were- Limited seats, fees, curriculum, student-driven, ROI, decent placement. The process of admission begins by filling an application form and then appearing for Group work and personal interview on the mentioned date. The result of selection declared within a week and then one can submit the fees and take admission. Eligibility- Graduation or appearing in the final year of graduation can apply with mentioned National level Management Test Score- CAT, CMAT, MAT, XAT, CET are accepted exams. Based on test scores and interview score selection takes place.

Faculty

4

There are around 10 permanent faculties all PhD and 7-8 guest faculties which are more than enough for a batch of 120 students. There are 3 sections each of 40 students which makes it easy for teacher-student interaction with less crowd around. Every day there are 3-4 lectures mix of 1 hour and 2-hour lecture based on the subject's importance. All the lecturers whether permanent or guest faculty all hold industrial experience who brings immense knowledge for the students. There lectures sometimes creative are impressive with the latest examples, case studies, creative assignments, movies relative to the topic which make learning fun altogether.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenerio at our caollege can be described as average overall. Most recruiting company belong to the banking and supply chain sectors. Marketing students generally have better placement opportunities, while finance and HR students do get job, though the package are not very high. Buswiness analytics has limited scope as very few companies visit the campus for the roles in that domain.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I did choose this course as I am genuinely interested in management and if it is healthcare management that makes me excited. There is a different teaching faculty for each and every subject. The faculties are highly qualified market professionals and experts who teach in an extremely interactive and practical way. They are very supportive. There was one exam conducted per semester which included projects and written exams.
