The college management was not excellent and influenced by the college Union leaders.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course was three years degree course, one have to appear 2 final examinations to obtain the degree. The first final examination was 2 years after the date of examination and the second one after 1 year after the result of this examination. The curriculum contained both theoretical and practical examination.
Placement Experience
At that time there was no placement opportunity after completion of this degree course but no student was found without a job after completion of Honours degree in Physics.
College Events
Freshers welcome was celebrated with cultural event once a year. Many celebrities and renowned singers came to our college in this celebration. I clearly remember Ram Kumar Chattopadhyay the renowned singer was present for his performance in the Freshers welcome Ceremony of my batch
Fee Structure And Facilities
The admission fee was very low, and monthly tuition fee was also low in comparison to other colleges in Kolkata. Payment accepted by cash only no chaque facility was available. Online payment service was not available at that time, so there was no question of on-line payment.
Fees and Financial Aid
The scholarship was not offered by the college but scholarship was available for extra ordinary students by the university.
Campus Life
The camps life was busy. Classes was taken in regular intervals. Chemistry and physics laboratory was very nice. Teachers were very helpful, College morning session was for girls student and day session was for boys. Annual sports events was opened to all once a year.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel was just beside the college and hostel accommodation was available for the student seeking admission to this college. Hostel room was average and room sharing was also available in this hostel.
Alumni/Alumna
The senior student was very helpful, the helped us giving their notes and books,when we asked any questions to them they helped us a lot.
Admission
I had keen interest to study Hons degree in Physics so I opt for this course I applied for admission in several colleges like at. Xevier's College, Kolkata but selected in the merit list In this college. The admission procedure was very simple I just produce attested copies of my marksheet and age verification certificate to the admission committee. The committee published merit list according to the marks obtained by the candidate in higher secondary examination. I found my name in the merit list published by them and took admission in that college.
Faculty
The faculty of this college in the department of Physics was very outstanding. Head of the department Mr. R. K. Bhattacharya was a very knowledgeable person. most of the professor s was PhD degree holder. Hindi practical class they helped me a lot.
