Lohita's Review On St Martin's Engineering College - [SMEC], Hyderabad

It is a good college. Except for few intolerable lecturers and colleges strict environment St.martins doesnt dissapoint. It can be one of the top choices when you are considering engineering colleges.

I took EAMCET I scored 70/160. I got into the college easily cuz I had 90% aggregate in my Intermidiate hence the considered me through B-category and gave me the admission in their college. I wanted a college close to my place so I wouldnt be exhausted by the end of the day and wouldnt have time to do my other works. This college is 15kms from my place and I ll b home by 4:40pm in the evening by college bus. Also the college has good campus placements and the crowd is nice. Hence I chose this college.

College has no internship offers inside the campus for students. I have not been to any internship offered by college. There are few students who do internship but they are not offered by the college. I have not been to any internship offered by the college. College has no offers for students for doing internship. There is no general stipend offered.

Many students get placed from my college. Also many companies come to our college like atleast offers from 40 companies will be offered. I got placed in Tech Mahindra as Asst software Engineer. Infosys offers 2.8 Lakhs pa,Tech M offers 2.6-3.25 Lakhs pa,Polaris offers 5L-7L pa,IBM offers 2-3 Lpa many other companies like Amazon cognizant wipro are major recruiters.

A week long technofest is celebrated at St. Martin's Engineering College (SMEC). 4-days of technical events and 2 days of cultural events in this so-called 'National-Level' festival fail to attract students from any of the surrounding colleges. SMECians have a good time though.We also have an annual day named as Jhankar We also celebrate ethinic day.

It is Rs 35000 and is very much reasonable. But I got thrgough B category hence I pay Rs 1lakh per year and for bus facility it is Rs 20000. The transport fee is very expensive. We have seperate fee for the access of library book issuing and ot costs around Rs 6000.

No But there is fee reumberisment for few selected students who are sc,st or bc. Their fee is totally waived off. The government bears their fee burden. They get to have free education. Sometimes I feel its not the best idea.

Great the boys to girls ratio os healthy one. We have TAM technilogical awarness month which is conducted for a month and many different activities are conducted which are co ordinated by the college students and with the help of few faculty. Many students take part enthusiastically and win many awards. There are activities like mock parliament automobile quiz general quiz technical quiz seminars debates etc.

Our seniors were quite and inspiration for us. They are all very well placed in their life. During college days few have proved their capabilities and werr placed in companies like Microsoft etc and our college is known for sports and always achieved 1st prize in basket ball in intercollege basketball competition as state level and not only boys team but also girls team too. Also wins prizes in football cricket volleyball running cycling chess many more.

We have 2 internals and external. Average of two internals is taken which is for 25 marks and external is for 75 marks so on total 100 marks. Exams are conducted similiarly for labs also.

They are good college in every semester gives out score sheets to students to rate faculty take our reviews and they do act accordingly. First year the faculty was really good. During second year we didnot like most of them. Then after the review and series of complaints by students HOD examined their teaching and removed the below average faculty. From third year again the faculty was good and by there has been no problem for students.
