A Overview on SVNIT

The overall experience of institute is very good but this is Government Institute the administrative work is going on as per the govt. procedure and little slow.

The curriculum of course is research-oriented and helping the Engineerings to make them better professional. My guide was helped me to make my research problem industry oriented. I have successfully done the research work confidently in this institute.

The placement of the institute is very good. For all the streams the top industries are visiting the institute. Students are selected and joined the organization. as I am from the civil engineering department the companies like L&T, Simplex, Reliance etc.

As I am a part-time PhD Scholar, I did not get a chance to attended the celebration other than convocation. But in the Institute lots of celebration events are organized like annual gathering, technical events, sports events. Students are enjoying throughout the year with the study.

As the Institute is under Government hence the fees is very less compared to the privet institute. Students are trying hard to get admission in this Institute because of feasible expenses or affordable expenses. The various scholarship is available to students as per the category.

I am an open candidate so I was not eligible for the scholarship. But in the Institute various scholarships are available for various category and financial weak candidates.

The campus life is very good. The area of campus is about 250 Acre and having beautiful greenery. The gender ratio is about 50-50 % and lots of extracurricular activities are arranged on the campus. There are lots are technical activities and computations are organized like labs, sports, competitions such as robotics, debates, etc.

No, I was doing the part-time PhD and my relatives are available in Surat city. But I have used the hostel as a guest during RPS as well as Defense. I have to find the hostel facility is very good and maintained properly throughout the year.

Alumni network is very sound and helping each other. The Alumni meets are organized time to time so that the network becomes stronger and new students are connected with the network.

The admission process for the PhD admission is as follows 1) A standing advertisement an available on www.svnit.ac.in/ web site 2) Application is to be filled in prescribed format and send it to college with application fees 3) If you are working NOC from your employer is compulsory for the admission 4) Application are processed two times in the year (Odd & Even Semester) 5) Shortlisted candidates need to face the objective examination and present a research proposal. 6) The list of successful candidate is display on website within the week.

As this institute is under the Central Government of India having very good faculty. About 90 percent teaching staff is a doctorate and most of non doctorate staff is pursuing a PhD. Most of the senior faculty is doing the industrial consultancy and hence having industrial exposure benefited to the students.
