Overall the college is good with prime focus on imparting quality education with minimal fees.
Course Curriculum Overview
Yes we do had industrial visits every year. The course was industry specific and practical. We had periodic projects to assess our learning. The curriculum was specifically designed to provide industry specific knowledge to the students. After the industry visits we were asked to prepare for assessment to know our understanding on the concept.
Placement Experience
I had 2 internships during my tenure. In the 2nd year I did 2 months internship in Priya Entertainment. In my 3rd year I did 3 months internship in Astral poly. The final placements was not attractive so I did not opt for it.
College Events
We organised our 1st management festival - PODSCORB. It was one of the first management festival in kolkata.The college supported the festival whole heartedly. We had an auditorium in the campus where we organised the program. The festival was a huge success.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is feasible. The college believes in no - nonsense. The primary focus was always on education. So they never charged additional fees. Students from all sections of the society used to take admission here. The fee break down has complete transparency.
Fees and Financial Aid
No the college do not offer any scholarship or education loan. I did not availed any education loan for the course.
Campus Life
The campus life was interesting. As it is a very big and old institutions it has lots of department and students. The students are from all walks of life bringing a lot of diversity in the campus. The gender ratio was 60:40 in favour of boys. The college has quota for christian minority students. The college is politically very active. Lots of politicians and eminent personalities passed out from the institute.
Hostel Facilities
The college has no hostel facilities for our management department. Though the college do have hostel facilities only for ladies. I can't say much about the facilities as I have not been inside myself. The price is basic.
Alumni/Alumna
The alumni network is strong and helpful. There is lot interaction with seniors and batch mates. Though there is no official annual meetup organised by our department we do organise meetups unofficially.
Admission
This course was approved by Calcutta University. Scottish Church College is a very old and reputed institution in kolkata. The course fee was affordable as compared to other institutions. It has a strong alumni association. The teaching staff was experienced and skilled. They had a written test followed by interview for admission.
Faculty
The faculty was highly experienced. We also had industry experienced faculty sessions time to time. Industry experts use to visit to take some sessions periodically. We daily had 7 lectures 5 days in a week. The lectures always focused on practical and industry acceptable knowledge.
