Remarks
Overall MITS is amongst the best State Level colleges. everything is fine here except for the Hostel. Avoid admitting your child in the Hostel.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course curriculum is quite updated. Updated in the sense of new courses but there is a lack of expertise in these newly introduced courses. Courses somehow meet the basic needs of technical board but can not be considered up to mark as of their syllabus tends to be quite outdriven from the mainstream competitive exams. Industry specific knowledge is groomed resulting in an above average placement in the IT sector, but there is negligible on campus placement in core branches. Curriculum does not focus much on research oriented studies due to a lack of interest of UG students in the research field, but is working actively for PG students as well as faculties.
Placement Experience
There is an appreciable placement in our college for students of IT and CS, whereas there is a very low placement record in core branches.
College Events
There are various technical as well as cultural fests that take place in our college every year. These are namely MITSVAH, Alankrit, and many other workshops on different trending courses in the technical as well as management field. Full year is packed with various activities and major events of technical as well as personal development.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fee structure is same as other private colleges in the state, so it can be considered as moderate. But last 3 years have seen a sudden increment in the fees each coming year. self financed branches have a really high fee structure compared to what is being served in the institution as for labs are present but half of the machines are unused or in a non working mode.
Fees and Financial Aid
i have not availed any scholarship program but there are quite a few scholarship programs run by the government.
Campus Life
Campus life at MITS is as exciting as any other state level college for a fresher. there is an equal gender ratio and a good tolerance with gender, ethnicity, religion, and sexual orientation. Except for the college boys hostel students, everything is good.
Hostel Facilities
No, I have not opted for the hostels due to the inappropriate environment of the hostels. also I preferred PG's nearby. there are ample number of flats and PG's available nearby. Average rent for a room are between 2000 to 4000 depending on the room size and facilities provided by the owner. For quality standards students generally prefer sharing room in flats.
Alumni/Alumna
seniors are quite supportive and also there is a good alumni network helping students for a better development of useful skillset needed for the placements and cracking exams
Admission
Civil being a core branch brings about a gamut of opportunities in research field as well as for job preferences. This attracted me towards the field of civil engineering. also after dropping my idea of architecture without further a due I opted for this course in the first round of counseling. I got admitted on 3rd of July in 2017. Admission generally start in the month of July. There is a list of documents required at the time of admission amongst which the most important documents are 10th and 12th class original marksheet, domicile certificate, TC, CC, migration certificate. Fees submission here is accepted mostly in cash form or D.D form.
Faculty
Most of the faculties have a fine teaching experience. Average qualification for faculties is Masters in their respective fields. Most faculties have enough industry experience except for some. It wouldn't be wrong to say that proper use of their talent is not used due to the system of education we are dealing with in the present time. I duly feel that their complete engagement in teaching could prove to be a much better engineering environment.
