Remarks
Everything can be improved but the administration is not at all lackadaisical. It's a good place if you are willing to mind your own business and develop as an individual.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is structured according to BCI & UGC regulations. There are open book exams, closed book exams, research papers, etc. There is a strong mooting culture in the university. The campus placement is not an assurance as the university is not an employment finding organization. However, top tier lawfirms have a fair share of students from Jindal. The university has a campus placement cell which offers good support and they help in procuring a good internship.
Placement Experience
Various top tier law firms in India like CAM, Trilegal, AZB, LKS have been recruiting students from the University. Also the university encourages internships and helps in finding internships.
College Events
Besides National holiday like independence day and Religious festivals like holi diwali there are ethnic days where you celebrate various ethnicities and diversity. intramurals, debates held by debate society, mootcourts held by moot court society, art fest for 3 days called biswamil which has a lot of participants. Other universities join this fest, sport fest called magnus which also has a lot of participants from various other universities across india and food fest which has a lot of vendors.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Quite expensive fees for the Indian middle class. The total feel is 7 lakh per annum for any course. Also there are a lot of other expenses. Only NEFT transfer is allowed. Most of the payments are through digital medium. Even though it is highly expensive, the facilities are worth that. The college provides a breakdown of the fee structure.
Fees and Financial Aid
I did not avail any scholarship. However, if someone comes under the scholarship criteria, they can apply it during admission. Also if and when the academic quality of a person improves new scholarship can be applied for. Student loans can be availed as well. In case of a scholarship, you are expected to work really hard.
Campus Life
Gender ratio is healthy. There are more female faculty than male. It's a safe space where you don't have to worry too much about your identity. The university offers a good support for organizing extracurricular activities. There is a sexual harrasment committee and there is no ragging or bullying as such. In case of any issues the university administration is approachable.
Hostel Facilities
It's a residential college. It's mandatory for everyone to be in a hostel. The rooms have centralized air conditioning system, with WiFi. Also it's double or triple sharing depending on the circumstances. The fee which you pay is for tution, housing, food, laundry and internet. There is no need for getting another accommodation nearby.
Alumni/Alumna
Alumni network is strong and the university spends considerable resources for the same. There are constant reminders about the necessity of alumni network. The senior students as a group is generally welcoming.
Admission
I was interested in law and the best place in India to pursue law was OP Jindal. It was as good as NLUs but now it's the best in business. Apply for LSAT India exam and if you have a considerably high percentile around 80, you can avail a scholarship. The faculty is great and quality is assured. Once you clear LSAT exam, it is highly likely that you'll get an admission.
Faculty
Top notch. Almost all of them have a master's degree from reputed universities and they have clearly set standards and expectations. Some of them were practicing lawyers in reputed law firms. They are reliable and helpful when it comes to procuring an internship. Most of the the faculty are in their 40s. If the students are unhappy with the faculty, they can ask for a change in faculty.
