Remarks

Don't like the college management. They make stupid rules sometimes and make life kind of hard for us.

Entrance Preview

I took CET and NATA. Scored 104 in my NATA exam. My scores along with CET weren't that great so my options weren't many when it came to choosing colleges. After the counseling I took a look at this college and it didn't seem bad. People assured me that the HOD was a very smart and nice person and is sure to help this institution grow. I took feedback from a lot of students and finally came to a decision of joining this college. It was also very close to home and enabled easy commute so this was my best option.

Placement Experience

0.5

There are no placements in our department. There have been no such visits from any companies. We've only had architects visit us to broaden our minds about the course but since there are no job placements there's not much else I can say in this column.

College Events

4

The college usually gives u holidays during festive season. No particular celebrations as such. Our department holds our own celebrations for days like Onam,Christmas,Ethnic day and so on. We love to learn about culture and we love to be involved in our department so we try our best to celebrate any tiny occasion whatever chance we get.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Since I got in through CET the yearly fees is not expensive. It is a reasonable amount of not more that 50k and is feasible. The management fee structures are quite high.

Campus Life

3

Competitions and tournaments happen throughout the year. We are allowed to participate in fests and other extra curricular activities. The B.Arch department is more lenient towards this and allows us to take part in NASA and other workshops for our betterment.

Hostel Facilities

1.5

I haven't stayed in the hostel but I've been told it's not that great with strict rules. The girl hostelutes are not allowed to leave the campus after 4 and they are confined there most of the time. I'm not a hostelite so I can't speak much on the matter.

Alumni/Alumna

College is quite new so we have only one batch of Seniors. They are nice and helpful. When they joined, the college was very different. It lacked sufficient faculty for B.Arch and had limited knowledge on the course. Later on, once the college gained a name, we had better faculty.

Exam Structure

Semester system. Internals every month. Drills our brain quite a bit. Definitely not chilled out during our final exams.

Faculty

2.5

They're not as good as I'd hoped. We've got new teachers every year. It's hard to adapt. Some teachers don't know much and some are very good at teaching. Our teachers have changed every year so it's hard for us to maintain good relationships with them.

Placement Experience:

Architecture is completely a solo thinking work we can work in groups as well but if a structure is designed by a single architect then it has a taste of that particular person but if its a group then all will be mixed and have different kind of brains giving different ideas soo an individual can manage even if he doesnt get a placement

Course Curriculum Overview:

You'll indulge in a lot of painting and are related stuff. Well since Architecture is not only about art, there are subjects which will use up your brain cells. You also get to go to study trips too! The ride is not smooth- everyday would be a submission day , everyday would be a love-hate relationship with the course. Internal reviews, external reviews, viva and jury, presentation and assignments, written exams...theyre enough to keep you busy throughout. Since its Affiliated to vtu, the system does seem not so updated to date. You cannot expect to have a month of holidays after each Semester too. Dont dream of having a pleasant vacation break.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is more condensed that other colleges', so it makes it easier to tackle multiple things at once. The course prepares us for real world applications through their dual internship program, which is a strong point in their curriculum. If the course in itself had more real world applications, instead of very superficial ideas, it would be more helpful The exams are a hurdle, but it comes with the rigor of the course, and it is something students end up adapting to over the course of 5 years.

Course Curriculum Overview:

If you check with other colleges the approach to the curriculum is different and more fun. The process of learning is more fun and appealing making us satisfied of what we have done at the end. Sometimes we don't get how the teachers are expecting us to do our assignments but we figure it out some how. Exams happen twice a semester (mid-sem and end-sem).
