Remarks
The institute was situated in my hometown and would constantly rank among the top three colleges when it used to be affiliated with UPTU. They have quite good laboratories in CE department. It continues to attract students due to its reputation.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus was mainly derived from the UPTU's and could use some vision. Industrial exposure was not at par with the other branches or rather minimal. The senior faculty was quite knowledgeable and helpful, some like Mr. S.M. Ali Jawaid and Mr. S.N. Chaudhary.
Placement Experience
While companies like TCS, Wipro and Adobe do come for CS and EC, there is a dearth of core companies for CE and ME students who mostly go for GATE and IES.The placement has improved from over 50% for 2017-18 to over 80% for 2018-19 (Note- this record is only for the B.tech programs offered by the university).The college draws most of its reputation from its highly placed alumni like Mr. Rajeev Gupta,Chief Engineer,Delhi Jal Board and Mr. Anurag Khare,DGM,NTPC and many more.Some of the alumni have ventures like IES Academy,Sherwood College,Pendown and SOLERGY.
College Events
The campus life was mostly disillusioning.The majority were concerned with "completing the syllabus" and "passing the tests".Not many attended the seminars or workshops.'Tech Srijan' was the main event and only the first year students showed enthusiasm. 'Abhyudaya' is the cultural-literary event but participation has declined over the years.The CE department has not held its fest 'Avalamban' for the last 3 years.However, many of those interested do join clubs and societies like dance, photography, SAE Collegiate Club, Robomania, E-cell,etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
One can get various merit-based scholarships sponsored by the college and its alumni, in addition to the regular government ones such as the schemes for minorities and financially weak.The SBI also offers loans to the needful and the toppers get their fees waivered.
Campus Life
The campus is still expanding with two new lecture complexes and an IT department has been newly added to it.There is an ITRC building equipped with wifi, a sports ground, a Council of Student Activities with a basketball stadium and a separate court for girls.Most of the students can be seen in the spacious library which boasts tomes and is also equipped with wifi. However, the labs need serious updation as many equipments need replacement.
Hostel Facilities
As for the girls' hostel, 3 girls stayed in a room for 2.Many have to opt for private hostels, PGs or rooms outside the campus because of high demand and availing a hostel seat here is no mean feat.The mess is good but the washrooms suck.Many facilities are inadequate and need replacement.
