My college experience

The college supports all kinds of students and encourages us to grow in every possible way. The campus is filled with greenery. It even has a recycling plant. There is harmony in the college and one can get a really wholesome experience in the college.

The curriculum is well designed so that it does not burden the students. The exam structure is based on internals and external marks. The assigned are given in the form of quizzes and mini project. These mini projects will let us understand the practical knowledge better. Extra curriculum activities are supported to build soft skills such a communication, team work and leadership.

The placements in the college is good even for the electronic core branches. The college helps us to enroll in various programs that provide internship. The placements will usually involve three rounds. The first round will be technical round, the second will be a round the shortlisted people and the final round will be a HR round.

The college celebrates the main college fest and then each department also celebrates their department fest. The college fest will be a cultural fest which end with a concert from a celebrity. The department fest willl be a fusion of technical education and cultural fest. Individual departments also conduct various seminars for their branch or even the whole college. College fest is a 3 day event. The first two days will have some events in which the students from other colleges also take part. The final day will be the concert a huge crowd will be gathered for it. The 2nd day will hold a DJ night for the college students.

The fee structure is not expensive if you have gotten the seat through entrance exam Ranking. Once you have entered the college through an entrance exam you will have to pay a certain amount to the government and then a college fees needs to be paid. For our batch it was 90000 per year in total. The college keeps an transperancy in the fee- breakdown. The fees can be paid through net banking, cash, cheque.

I had applied for the Karnataka Government e-pass scholarship. The eligibility criteria was to have 50% passing mark in the previous semester. You can apply to this scholarship through an online portal. Documents such as aadhar card, ration card, income and cast cirtificate, college fees receipt needs to be scanned and uploaded. Then you will have to take a print of the final application and produce it to the college. The scholarship will be provided in the odd sem around March. The minimum scholarship amount is 13,000.

The college has students from all over India. The college supports a lot of extra curricular activities. Festivals are celebrated and they organise sports events too. Ethnic day is celebrated to embrace the diversity. Various competitions between the departments will be conducted. Ganesha festival is celebrated by keepin an idol of ganesha in the hostel which is soon transformed into a DJ night. Parties are not celebreated within the hostel. But there are so many nearby places where you can party a lot.

The alumni network in our department is great. They have made some recommendations for the existing students too. The seniors are also helpful when it comes to the curriculum. The department encourages the seniors and the juniors to have a good relationship. They organise industrial visits together for two batches in the department. It will be a good bonding experience.

I wanted to perceive in electronics and instrumentation and this college had a good review and placement when it comes to this branch. I took KCET and got a ranking that is suitable for the admission. Had to choose in the admission portal the preferred college and waited for the list to arrive. When I found out I had gotten the seat had to go to the college for the admission process. They gave the ID cards and then gave us a date when the college would start.

There are 9 teaching staffs in our department. The minimum qualification is MTech. Of which three have completed PHD and the rest are applying for it. The average age of the lectures will be 30-45. Hod is a very experienced and friendly and will always be available for the students. Most of the lecturers had the relevant industry experience. They had worked in the relevant industry for atleast 3-4 years before making teaching their profession. The lecturers are always ready to clarify the doubt. They encourage the students to take part in various seminar and workshops and encourage us to enhance the knowledge
