My Review

The best college one can ever get the privilege to study in. I count myself as a blessed to have got the chance to step into this college.

It's relevant, researce-driven and fair. The teachers give a lot of input on the overall growth of a student, not only in terms of the education, but also consel them regarding any issues. We are also taught all the good values necessary for one to keep the humanity intact through the value education classes.

The placement is really good. Students have also gone to the reputed institutions like Jawaharlal Nehru University or Hyderabad University for higher education.

The college has remarkable performance in NCC and NSS. Also we have a remarkable football team from the college. There are several other teams who take part in various intercollegiate and interstate activities and competition and bag trophies in almost anything they take part.

The fee structure is really feasible. Meritorious students from different family background study in our college. No special seats are reserved for any particular category. And, no under the table "donations" are accepted. If one isn't qualified for a particular course, then one will not get admitted into the college.

I did not opt for any. I did not get any loan or scholarship. I sat for the entrance and bagged a seat for myself.

The campus life is really great. We have NEVER faced any sort of discrimination based on gender, race or sex. I myself don't belong to the place and moreover we have students coming from various parts of the world, namely Africa, Kazakhstan and so on. And the college has only taken us as a part of their family. We have a big library when one can sit and study without any disturbances. We also have a big playground where students can easily practice football, basketball and different outdoor games. We take part in various extracurricular and interstate and international activities and competitions such as debates, sports, science exhibitions, NCC and our college has always proven to be best in whatever they take up.

I stayed in PG. But we have a very good girls'and boys' hostel within the campus, where the decorum of the institute is maintained as well as, focus is given into molding them into good human beings.

The alumni organise various events in our college, be it medical camps or educational and carrier oriented sessions and many other. They have always worked for showing the path to the present students.

I got through entrance. There were over 600 candidates for the entrance exam out of which only 47bwere selected, and I was one among them. And, they take one day in their assessment and on the following day, they announce the results. And, if anybody fail to take the admission after the results are announced, then the candidates in the waiting lists get the privilege.

100 on 100. They truly are gems one can ever find in the image of teachers, especially the department of English. More than a faculty, they are a family. We have always stayed together, through thick and thin. I am not a localite from Shillong, Meghalaya. But whenever I would miss my dad, my HOD, would always sit down with me and make me understand. I count myself blessed being a part of this institute, and most importantly, of this department.
