College review

Wadia college has been like a second home for almost 5 yrs as i also completed my 11th and 12th from here. I would refer this college to everyone who wants a mix of good educational curriculum as well as extra curricular activities. Its sort of a all in one package, feasible, has a good name over the past 100 years and welcomes all kinds of students.

Wadia College has an entrance exam if its own for BBA. I opted for that and out of 200 we needed a minimum scire of 140 and above. I scored somwhere next to 170. The exam is mis of 4 sections. Maths, English, Logical reasoning and General kknowledge.(current news and history included)

Quite a few companies came in for placements and internships.Since this is grad course internships are nit the buzz over placements. Getting placed is the priority. Job offers ranged between 10 - 25 k depending upon your area of specialization (finance being the most lucrative of all) Rather than internships BBA focuses on a two year self made project which begins in the 5th semester.

The placement cell for Wadia college is run my young volunteers from among the students and Mrs Radha nair, head of placement cell. One has to simple register with a name and number and get updates on when and which company will be coming in for interviews. Placements begin in early January at the end of the 6th semester. The process is very clean and well organized. Renowned companies like Deloitte, KPMG, Syntel, ICICI bank, Searce logistics etc have Visited and successfully placed a mass number of students.

There are various events celebrated in college the most celebrated being the college fest called Infinity. Infinity is a platform for students to showcase various talents. The entire management studies section gets together for this event and we have chance of knowing our seniors as well as juniors. Infinity happens on a large scale longing for about 3 days. Volunteers are given participation certificates. Also there are many educational summits and various guest lectures around the year.

Fee structure is quite feasible as compared to other colleges. It costs between 35 - 40 k per year depending on your course. There are options available for EMI payment as well which is a good option for emergency situations.

Guess there are education loans available like for different courses. Scholarships are also available but one has to enquire thoroughly as it is different fir different courses.

There is absolutely no bias over race, religion, caste or gender for that matter. A Good number of equal girls and boys are admitted.the students come from all kinds of backgrounds mostly from middle class to higher than that.there is also a mix if international stufents which makes the environment more accepting

Since i am a localite i have no idea about the hostel faclities but from what I've heard the hostel is decent. Recently a new boys hostel was made by demolishing the old one.

Seniors are very warm and helping. Very welciming crowd. No signs or thoughts about things like raging as it is strictly prohibited in Wadia. You surely will have fun with the seniors.

Exam structure is such that you get enough gap to study. There are two types - internal and external. Internal exans as the name says are based on the exam organised by the college itself. It contains your assignment marks, project as well as those scored in the paper itself. External exam is one that contains your project as well as marjs obtained in the university papers checked by external invigilators.both the exams take at the end of each semester with a gap of 1 month between both of them.

Faculty was very good with vast experience and very good in depth knowledge. We had permanent as well as vusiting faculty which also included professors from Pune uni as well as other unis who also taught the PhD courses. Management as well as faculty was well educated and groomed. Teachers were very dedicated towards teaching. A good Mix of experienced and news faculty made it quite the group.
