NIT JAMSHEDPUR- A Brief introduction

College management is pretty lethargic. It takes some amount of time to get proper documentation, bonafide etc.

Course curriculum is pretty out dated just like any other college of India. It isn't much relevant but students try to reinvent themselves by learning new technology and cutting edge softwares. It isn't much research driven. Though we get ample amount of time in this college which helps us in preparation of other stuffs and professional jobs as well.

Placement percentage is above 80 percent. Yes I did an internship of sales and marketing with Raam group which is situated in Hyderabad.

Ojass- techno management fest Culfest- cultural fest Urja- sports fest Vidhaan- civil engineering society fest And other branch fest like cognitio for mechanical and production branch. Ojass is 2nd biggest techno management fest in entire east India. Thousands of footfalls happen in these fest. Ojass is organised in march and culfest in February and urja in January.

Tuition fee is 125000 per annum, hostel fees is 30000 per annum and mess fees is 32000 per annum and few extra charges rounding around 20000. It's feasible as more than 50 percent students avail scholarship. Reserved students are given full scholarship on tuition fees.

Yes college do offers scholarship to economically weaker sections. Students whose parents income is less than 5 lpa are eligible for scholarship. Around 50-60 percent students avail scholarship which amounts to around 10+ crores.

Campus life is amazing, it's 340 acre campus situated in backdrop of dalma hills. There are 2 cricket ground, a football, hockey ground. 3 basketball court, 3 lawn tennis court and multiple badminton court. URJA is a sports fest which takes place in January which is an inter branch event. Gender ratio has increased, it's around Atleast 20 percent girls in every course. There isn't any form of discrimination on basis on gender caste and religion. There are debating and quizzing society as well and lab is well equipped as well.

Yes I have opted for hostels. It's a single shared room for all students except Freshers who are given double accomodation. Hostels are pretty well maintained and new. There are 13 hostels in college.

Industry and alumni relations team is doing pretty good work. Alumnis help a lot in internship and placement opportunities. I have talked to a few alumni and got critical tips for future.

I got admission in this college by giving JEE mains exam and securing 20204 rank in this. I was admitted to nit Jamshedpur on 22 July 2017, and classes started on 29 July 2017. There was 7 round counseling for admission along with 2 spot rounds. I chose this course because I got this course in my rank of JEE mains.

Total lecture in semester is more than 40 per subject and around 5-6 subject in a semester. Average age of faculty is around 40 years and all of them are PHDs. They seem pretty expert in what they teach apart from a few professor who don't seem to have much command over subject. New teachers are pretty enthusiastic about the subject.
