Remarks

The best women's college in Bangalore. Its got some of the best infrastructures. It was hence graded A by NACC when I was still studying in the institution.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is excellent. It's helped me take this up as a career right now. I have been currently studying masters in psychology. This institution paved me a way to a better understanding of the field. So thankful to my teachers. We were taken to NIMHANS, Commits college seminars. We went to News18 and Public TV office.

Placement Experience

4

I didn't apply for any internships as I had plans of studying further extensively in the field of psychology. But the college did offer certain opportunities to apply for major IT companies as HR professional, Journalists, reporter and editor posts in some of the reputed news channels like News9, TV9 etc. TCS had come for the campus interview. And it's a privilege to say that some of my friends were selected in the very first attempt.

College Events

4.5

We had a cultural fest called Janapada Jatre which used to happen around Jan-Feb of every year. The whole college used to take part in to. Except for some of the introverts, all the others would take part in the group dance, singing, and other colourful events. It used to be like a festival. Science day, history day is celebrated extremely where all the students are asked to make models. They best were awared. We had talent hunt every year called Prathibhothsava. This used to be an amazing part of the whole festival. I won the Cultural championship trophy for all the 3 consecutive years of my study there, as I am a classical dancer and a vocalist as well. I used to take part in all the events in intra and inter college festivals.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Each year costed me about 15 thousand rupees for my course BA (JPE) which is quite reasonable fees for a the things we were accessible to. Payment mode is via Allahbad Bank. It's very simple and everyone in the college as well as the bank that is close to the college itself, would guide through the procedure.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes the college did offer scholarships. I was given 3000rupees as a cultural scholarship. It offered scholarships for all the merits and castes.

Campus Life

4

As it is a women's college, obviously it was all women. We were given opportunities accross alllll the areas. Journalism department would organize a festival called "Rendezvous" where intercollege competitions were exclusively organised for debates, college, film review, poster making, reporting, report writing, journal writing, ad writing etc. English department did intra college competitions for English essay writing, poetry, character sketch, review writing, etc. Psychology department organizes class competition for chart making, mock counseling, face painting, best psychologist, Persona etc.

Alumni/Alumna

I am still in contact with some of my seniors after 2 years of me passing out from the institution. That is how strong the bond was with the seniors. College has been an amazing place for having met someone the nicest and amazing humans to have as well wishers all my life. Some of them have guided me throughout the process and my presence in college and still continue to help me when I need them the most.

Admission

I got into this college because of my fond interest in the field of psychology. Very few Colleges offered the subjects I needed along with psychology. I was into journalism, and english as well. (This is a triple major course). Firstly I was asked to present my marks cards of 10th and 12th. I was asked a few questions by the head of the department. And they confirmed my seat for my course. I joined in june 2015.

Faculty

4.5

Teachers were extremely knowledgeable and we'll equipped. They have all been teaching there for about 12-13 years now and are all still teaching there, which makes it understandable as to how knowledgeable as teachers they are. Extremely friendly and understanding. All the problems, doubts of the students are solved in no time. They are welcoming. Teachers are about 30-50years of age and most of them have done their Doctorate studies in their respective areas of expertise.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible to sit for placement in their final years. The companies which comes for the placement are deloitte, goldmanSachs, amazon and many more reputed companies. And they do make many offers. The highest package reports around 30 LPA and the average goes on around 3 to 4.5 LPA. Around 70-90 percent get placements. My plans is to pursue higher studies.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements towards the final semester of their course. Currently, I have only been using the help of my faculty for internship opportunities, since I am not looking for placements. But they have connections with big names in the communication sector, and they often have personalities coming in to give talks and interact with the students. A great number of students opt for placements and approximately 90% of them do end up getting posted at really good companies. Others choose to continue with higher education. My plan after receiving my degree would be to take up a diploma in literature in the UK, while simultaneously finding myself a position at a good publishing house there.

Placement Experience:

From my seniors, I hear that 20/30 % of students from our college get placed. But now being in my final sem I know the reality. For covid and lockdown, the placement sector has been badly hit. Only a handful of companies came this year (5/6 companies). 4/5 people from our batch are placed but no placement for the big chunk of people. From 5th sem students become eligible for placements but in 5th sem, no company came to our college for placement this year. Only in the 6th sem, the placement cell started. Companies that visited till now ( some of them came to take interns and didn't offer full-time jobs) 1) Clevertize, 2) Social Panga, 3) Robert Bosch GmbH, 4) Saatchi & Saatchi, 5) Publicis, 6)PR Pundit, 7) McKinsey, 8) Edsol Edtech, 9) Momo Media, 10) MSL, 11) Genesis BC, Offers: 1.5-3 LPA (average). I plan to send CVs personally to companies through LINKEDIN and other job search platforms because the college hasn't provided us with good placement offers as claimed.
