Yes. The management should have been more strict infusing discipline. Bunking college studies and enjoying sports room and others should have been restricted.
Course Curriculum Overview
At that point of time, were normal. Times have changed considerably as of now. Cannot be compared. We went for grooming into being commerce student for basic business management. The faculty taught theories and practicals which definitely assisted. There were no visits from any industries.
Placement Experience
Those times placement system was not practised. At graduation level it was just degree course, thereafter such systems became relevant.
College Events
Used to celebrate all festivals of different religions as and when they happened including national festivals. Most students used to participate in the festivals. Evenso West Bengal is cultural rich state and honours and celebrates the traditional festivals.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Was quite reasonable at those times. Our annual fees were Rs.12000 which was reasonable at that point of time. The college was a well to do charging reasonable fees to students. The expensive colleges were also in the city, but we're not affordable on various counts.
Campus Life
You do not forget campus life, sports played and enjoyed. Tournaments were held periodically, labs and curriculum activities were all available. Gender ratio was not good. It was like 80:20. Now things have changed. Infact from that times, the gender ratio started changing.
Hostel Facilities
Was staying at relatives place because hostel facility was not provided by the college. Students having own residences were preferred, as hostel was not available in the college premises or nearby in those days.
Alumni/Alumna
Not really. As I have moved to another state, I do not mingle with them and so are not much helpful.
Admission
College had good faculty for commerce. Normal interview by principal was conducted. Dates were announced for admissions and was learnt thru mouth publicity and forms were issued and filled for admissions. General interviews were taken and admitted. Even references helped to get admissions.
Faculty
The faculty were genius n appreciable. They knew their subject well. They knew how to transform the students to fit their future needs. The lecturers ofcourse did not have specific industry requirement experience but their job was to groom the students overall.
