Remarks
The admin was very good and humble, however I felt fees could have been less for the facilities and the course provided. It could have been more affordable.
Entrance Preview
Normal CMS entrance test based on current affairs and media. The result was very good, no marks were given.I chose this college as this was the only one to offer a course on Media studies and films in Bangalore
Course Curriculum Overview
The first year was mainly focused on print journalism but the second and third year was spent in specialization in radio, television and documentary filmmaking.
Internships Opportunities
I interned with a graphics design section of an advertising firm in Bangalore and the experience was nice. I learnt new softwares and designed a few ads for them just to get a rough idea.
Placement Experience
I did not get any placement from the institute as I chose to study further. Usually placements are given in PR, advertising and print media.
College Events
The grandest of all fests was the CMS festival where I was a part of the team which conducted the annual media fest called Melange. Apart from that, many intra department fests were organized by the event organizing specialization students and we had film festivals and seminars.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is a bit expensive for a course like BMS. While I was studying, I had to pay Rs.1, 05000 per year for a three year BMS course.Exam fees were also collected every semester for end sem exams.
Campus Life
I had studied at the old campus, which was cramped but the new campus that has been constructed is very good. There used to be some or the other activities every month which kept us engaged throughout the three years.
Hostel Facilities
There are hostels provided by the college but I was a resident of Bangalore so no idea about the hostels.
Exam Structure
We used to have end semester exams every six months. The day was mainly chilled out as the course was more creative than the basic maths and science.
Faculty
The faculty was well versed with what happens in the industry and was very helpful in shaping up what I would like to become in future. They were always encouraging and ready to help.
