I appeared for MSET entrance exam and scored a good position. At that time only ICFAI Hyderabad offered MS Finance in India. There were only 120 seats .
Course Curriculum Overview
The course focused on in-depth knowledge of Finance related to investments, funds, financial markets, banking etc. It provided a broad and deep exposure to finance theory. It focused on Financial markets and Financial Modeling.The main electives were Financial Accounting, Economics, Financial Management, Corporate Laws, Security Management, International Trade & Finance, Portfolio Management, Merger & Acquisition etc.
Internships Opportunities
College internship was in a stock broking company and I learnt the secrets of equity derivative and commodity training. In 2007 the stipend offered was 10, 000.
Placement Experience
Investment banking companies like Copal Partner, IT companies like CSC, HCL, Infosys, Banks like Vijaya Bank, Bank of Baroda, ICICI Bank etc came to the campus. More than 90% of students got placed through campus placement. 2.5- 5 lakh per annum was the approximate package offered to everyone.
College Events
Annual Cultural Fest was the major event celebrated at the college. Dramatics , Cultural , Fashion society of the college was very active. There was a special committee for all the festivals in the college with this there was a committee for food and recreation activity also.
Fee Structure And Facilities
Fees was 5.5 lakhs for two year course. It was divided in installments. The first installment was the down payment at the time of admission in the college. After that the installment occur in every 4 months.
Fees and Financial Aid
I am not aware of any one who availed loan facility. People have taken education loan from Banks. Top 5 students were offered scholarship . Criteria for scholarship was 10 out of 10 CGPA.
Campus Life
Campus life was good. Gender ratio was also appropriate. Extracurricular activities like theatre, dramatics, sports were offered. Campus had Table Tennis table, Badminton court, Lawn Tennis Court, Cricket Academy, Football Academy, Indoor games like Carom, chess, IT labs with more than 100 computers were there.
Alumni/Alumna
We have a strong Alumini network with whom I have been connected through LinkedIn, Facebook etc. Few seniors have become entrepreneurs. They have started through security firm. I take tips from them.
Faculty
Faculty of the college was expert in their subject and provided quality education. There were two types of faculty in the college, one is on the permanent payroll and some comes as a guest lecturer in the college.
