Best Internship Opportunities @Silver Oak

The good aspects about ASOIT is the core education that they provide. For computer engineering, it is having highly qualified professors, well equipped computer labs etc. The other good aspect is its location. It is situated at S. G. Highway. At present, I haven't seen any bad aspects. I took admission in 2016, and before taking admission to ASOIT, I've visited many private colleges of Ahmedabad, but out of all of them, I found ASOIT as the best! They also provide various online courses that are freely available to us on Coursera and that too with certifications!! The admission process is through ACPC and also some Management Quota seats are there, but it is very good college for Computer engineering. Also, the placement rate is also very high. I've also been placed in an MNC from campus placement.

I was prior interested in Computer Science and IT filed. So, I chose Computer Engineering as my discipline. There are a sufficient number of faculties for every discipline. According to the criteria, there are 40% faculties from IITs and NITs, and rest are having Master's degree. As per my experience of Computer Engineering, the faculties are very helpful and are having a very high level of knowledge. They also focus on Industry-required approach and hence used to conduct various seminars, workshops, etc. so that each student get practical experience. In one semester of 6 months, we were having 2 mid-semester exams at the gap of 2 to 2.5 months. And at the end of the semester, we used to have final University level exams. All these exams were easy to pass. In the final exam, 70 marks' paper is there, out of which 23 marks have to be obtained to clear the exam and in the mid-sem exams, 40 marks' paper used to be there out of which, 16 have to be obtained to clear the exam.

Silver Oak has a tie-up with Internshala and has also received an award for the highest number of students enrolled for internships. Apart from Internshala, various Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar based companies also come for internships. The common role offered is Software Engineering Intern and other roles according to the company requirements. I have not done any internship from my college, I participated directly in the placement. But some of my classmates have done internships through my college.

The placement rate is very high at Silver Oak University. I have been placed at Gateway Group of Companies, a well known MNC headquartered at Ahmedabad. In Technical, the highest package was 7 LPA offered by TCS. The average package is 3 to 3.5 LPA. The TPO Cell is having very rich contacts with almost all reputed companies. Various companies like Gateway Group of Companies, TatvaSoft, SPEC India, Cygnet etc. used to come for placement every year. TCS and Infosys used to conduct tests and based on that, several students have been placed in these companies. I can say that 100% placement is done at Silver Oak University. Generally, companies start coming from the 7th semester. I was also placed in the 7th semester only. It was decided that I want to be placed from my campus only, so I started sitting in campus placements from 7th sem and got placed. For this, I am very much thankful to the TPO cell and the college.

Since 2018, Silver Oak has become a university. Before this, it was affiliated with the Gujarat Technological University (GTU). when I joined ASOIT in 2016, the academic fee for 1 year was 63,000 rupees. Generally, they do not increase the fees every year. Today also, the fees for Computer Engineering is 63000 rupees per year. Students can apply for a scholarship through MYSY (Mukhyamantri Yuva Swavalamban Yojna) portal for the scholarship. The minimum percentage required to be eligible for the scholarship in the 12th is 70%. Through MYSY, you can get a scholarship of 50% of your fees every year. i.e. you will get 31,500 rupees (Fees of 1 semester). Apart from this, the college also provides financial aid to some students. For that, you need to contact the admin office. But for the Computer Engineering discipline, the fee structure is much affordable than other self-finance colleges of Ahmedabad.

Silver Oak University conduct a cultural fest called 'Junoon', every year in the month of January. Then, in the month of February, we used to have a sports week and the tech fest called 'Talaash'. There are ample amount of books in the library. Every student gets 2 books for the time period of 14 days, after which he/ she can get the book renewed. For the late return of the book, there is a fine of 5 rupees per day. Classrooms are well equipped with a sufficient number of benches, a stage, and a blackboard with proper air circulation. Sports week used to held in the 2nd week of February. Apart from this, various industry-oriented seminars and workshops used to held in the college. There are many clubs according to departments, which focuses on making student aware of the current technologies and industry-focused experience. Some of them are Blackberry club, Banayan Tree Club, etc. We also have a startup cell called IGNITE, which help students to innovate new things.
