Remarks
The college has a NIRF RANK 1 for a pharmacy which was the major driving force for me to choose this college. The admission process in our year was based on NEET RANK/SCORE. However, now it has been extended to NEET and MAINS. I got to know of this college through a newspaper advertisement after which I applied online.
Course Curriculum Overview
Being a research-oriented college, faculty members have amole experience and well qualified. Most of the teachers have both international and national publications. In terms of teaching, they are equally good at imparting the knowledge that they behold. There are two SESSIONAL EXAMS (internal) and then the Semester exams. They are an average difficulty but can be passed give a little effort is put into studies.
Placement Experience
Companies start the placement process from the 3rd years of college (6 sem). Companies that often arrive are Eli Lily, Sun pharma, Wing's pharmaceutical, AIMIL pharmaceutical, Hamdard Labs, etc.. The average pack is 3 lakhs and the highest might go up to 7 lakhs. Placements are not at a high rate as most students opt for further studies. I myself am planning for higher education after degree rather than being placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees is taken on a semester basis. The batch of pharmacy is divided into two glasses Regular and Self FINANCE SCHEME (SFS). The students enrolled in Regular have a fee of 45,000 per sem whereas SFS has 75,000. Besides this, there is an industrial sponsor quota where the fee is 1,00,000 per sem and also NRI quota where fees are in dollars ($500). Being a minority college, the scholarship is mainly for the minority and also to the low-income strata. Currently in my 4 years so have not been placed yet.
Campus Life
The campus has a buzzing social life. Being a fairly large, secured campus, students are always seen throughout the campus. There is one University fest held in the month of February which takes place along with the Sports Week of the college lasting for a week. The fest includes cultural and literary activities and sports week includes team sports and athletics. However, there are no Societies in the college and no unions. There are two libraries, a departmental library in the pharmacy building consisting of pharmacy books and the central Library ( separate building) consisting of all subject books. However, the problem with Pharmacy, in particular, is the infrastructure of the Pharmacy building. It lacks a bit, although work is being done.
