Life at SKCT

I am very well fixed to start my higher education at Coimbatore. I acquired 167.65 as my cut on 12th std. So, I searched for the best colleges online(college unit) and offline by asking my relatives in Coimbatore. And, I came to know after PSG and KCT, Sri Krishna institutions is a good college. I went to the colleges directly to join the college. I don't know where to join SKCET or SKCT. I visited both colleges. Personally I preferred for Sri Krishna College of Technology(SKCT). This college is located on a little mountain. As I said mountain the climate is chill and the scenarios also quite good. I admired this college and went to the trust office where we need to pay the Capitation(Donation) fee. They told the amount for each course on both the colleges. The process and the administration for both the colleges are the same, even the placement drive is common for both the colleges. The main difference is transportation that SKCET has. For that, I won't pay double the amount.

As computer science has job security I had chosen it. But I advise everyone to choose the courses they are intrested in. Each class will have three tutors. Faculty-student ration will be(1:20). Sri Krishna Institutions faculties are filtered every year. No faculty with the least rating can be in. Only knowledgeable faculty will be there. The teaching system will be "Outcome Based Learning" with the revised syllabus on smart boards. The materials will be posted in google classroom where the student can access the materials by their smartphone anywhere at any time. There should be moral respect to be followed between student and teacher. The faculties are so friendly as they can even help us with our personal issues. Every semester has 3 internals followed by practicals and the main semester. Passing the internals is based on each individual, if they listen to the class and made a little study before the exam they can even acquire good score. Many clubs are also available to develop our own talent.

From the 6th semester, the Placement drive will be started. Our college major recruiters are Amazon, Zoho, TCS, CTS, Bosh, Accenture, etc. Placement training will be started by the 5th semester. Placements are quite good. Zoho offers four different kinds of packages for the different roles they recruit. The highest package is about 20 LPA and the average package is 4.5 LPA.

There should be no scholarship available for Management quota but the government quota students can avail of several scholarships as they can get a first graduate scholarship. Some students may avail scholarship according to their Family's income. Students can also avail loans from the bank. The college will give the necessary details to avail of it.

Symposium will be conducted yearly. On engineering day a tech-fest is conducted. Each department has an association and they even conduct some of the Contest, Workshops, Innovation challenge, etc. Our college also gives equal importance to sports. Every student can use the ground only after and before the college hours. O.D will be provided if the student is going for the contest either technical / non-technical. Many competitions are there in and around the college. Tutors will encourage fellow students to take part in it. Our college consists of a library both Digital / non-digital where many books are available for reference and even books available for GATE, TOFEL, etc. NSS, Leo club, Skill development clubs conducted by every department. A separate food court is available on the campus and even small food stores too. Copier shops and Stationery shops are also available. The climate will surely admire you. Washing and ironing should be taken care of by the students.

Rooms can differ by block to block. Some block contains 4 members per room, some have 6 members per room,2 members per room. Separate cupboard, desk and a chair will be given. An ambulance is always available for emergencies. Hostel food is completely vegetarian. The food will be standard and good enough. Cleanliness will be maintained in the mess. Coffee, Milk, Bread, and jam will be available in the morning and Tea and milk in the evening. The banana will be available at night. Fest will be conducted monthly once. Study time is there but no one cares. Bio-metric attendance is their everyday. Students should apply to out if they go out and they need to apply leave for going home. Outing time (Monday-Saturday) => 5 pm to 8 pm. Sunday=>9 am to 5 pm. Drugs, Alcohol are strictly prohibited if you got caught you will be dismissed or debarred. Drinking water is always available if not we can tell the hostel in charge to refill it. Faculty Wardens are really friendly.
