Remarks

As I belong to a middle-class family that's why I take admission in this government college. The fee of the college is too low and the education system is also very good. Big and proper classrooms and library are there for students. Teachers were also very good and have great teaching experience. The surrounding of the college campus is very nice. There is no ragging at all in Maulana Azad College. And the best part of this college is that it provides education to all students irrespective of their caste, religion and financial support. There are many scholarship programs running in the college for the poor and needy students. One can get all the necessary education in this beautiful College. Maulana Azad College is fully funded by the State Government. All the festivals are organised and celebrated by the college i.e, Holi, Saraswati puja, eid etc. Many programs and function were held in the college for the proper growth and development of the students. There is no playground.

Course Curriculum Overview

5

As I studied Commerce in the senior secondary that's why I choose B.Com in the undergraduate. And also I have a great interest in the accounts and finance. I wanted to work in the banking system, and the B.Com course will lead to that goal. The faculty of the college is very good and properly mannered. As all the necessary subjects were taught from the best and experienced teacher. Teachers are very helpful in nature, they clear all the doubts of the students in the classroom. In my class, there are 66 students. Out of 66, 36 are boys and 30 are girls. All the teachers of our department holding the degree of B.Com, M.Com. Our HOD holds the B.com, M.com, M.Phill and PhD. As I am studying in CBCS system, 2 exams were taken by the University in a single year. Calcutta University is the very good University in India. And it's among the top ten University in India. The exams are very hard to pass. And the examination system is very good. 20% marks allotted as internal exams and 80% as external.

Placement Experience

1

No placement in my college. That's why no students were got placed. None of the companies came to recruit the students. There was no average salary or any salary offered to any of the students. Around two students got an internship in companies in nearby areas. Placement is the weak point of the college, the administration should have to take bold steps to think about the student's jobs security just after passing the college.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of the college are very low, as anyone can afford that. As this college is fully funded by the State Government. My 1-year fees are around 1200 INR only. That means only 5000 is needed for the completion of the course in 3 years. Many scholarship program are running in the college for the poor and needy students. No placement in my college. That's why no students were got placed. None of the companies came to recruit the students. There was no average salary or any salary offered to any of the students. Around two students got an internship in companies in nearby areas.

Campus Life

4.5

Umang fest is organised and celebrated in college every year. The fest is very good and enthusiastic. 200 fee was charged from the students to take part in the Umang fest. In the month October or November of every year the feast is celebrated. There is a central library in the college for the students and the teachers. There is a wide variety of books and journals. Many sports programs were held in the college. Classrooms are well furnished. All the departments are equipped with laboratories having modern-day facilities. There is no WIFI available for students. The library is quiet and have all the books required. There is a good environment for sports encouragement. There is the website, Facebook page of the group available for the all. There is also a student zone on the college website for the news and information for the students. There are a Gym and common room for both boys and girls on the college campus.

Hostel Facilities

4

Maulana Azad College had a personal hostel for its students named Baker Hostel for boys only. Hostel facility is only allowed to the minorities i.e, Muslims. The hostel of the college is also very good. The distance between the hostel and the college is around 800 meters. It takes only 10 to 15 minutes to reach college by the hostel students. The is also canteen in the hostel, and many dishes were served in the hostel. In the time of admission, the student can apply for the hostel services. Also, any student who not belongs to minorities can look on the PG or room on rent. It cost about 1000 to 2000 per month. Prices vary according to the room and location.

Placement Experience:

Placements were not there earlier. But our batch was the first one to get placement at St Joseph's College Darjeeling. To be honest It is not a college you should target if you are looking for placement. The companies were too small . The roles are way to entry level . Highest placement was around 40000 per month but it was an inside sales role so many opt out. There is not official data about placement . My plan was to look for off campus jobs.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the course the b.com because I want to become the CA but after completing the graduation my family condition was not very good so I quit my studies and searching for the job. My dream was after B.com then I complete M.com then CA but I couldn't do that. I'm pursuing because I'm interested in understanding how businesses work and want a solid foundation in commerce and finance. It opens up various career paths in accounting, finance, management, and more. Plus, it's a versatile degree that can lead to professional certifications like CA, CS, or MBA.
