Remarks

The management is well organised at the lower level while it takes a while for any information to pass to the higher level in order to get any work done. Apart from that, the functioning of the college is very satisfactory. This is one of the colleges that avoids ragging and replaced it with more fun with just five hours of college this is one another wonderful experience in life.

Entrance Preview

There wasn't a need of an entrance examination to enrol for B.Sc Psychology. Our AISSCE result was the qualifying criteria. This college unlike the rest in the city had a potential syllabus and the reviews from the alumini were also encouraging.

Internships Opportunities

B.Sc psychology doesn't have internship in its curriculum. Students still volunteer and go for internships outside. While other departments like HR,Development Management and Social Work have internship in their curicullum the students have to find an offer on their own.

Placement Experience

4

Renowned companies like TCS,CTS,Matrimony.com,Kazhana,E&Y come in for a walk-in interview. The placement rates are above average and it is only for the postgraduates.

College Events

3

Every department in the college has a Forum which has a council that organises events like workshops, seminars, competitions both at intra and inter collegiate level. MSSW also conducts an intra collegiate cultural event in the even semesters which goes for two days. Several competitions are conducted to bring out the students talents. Sports day is also conducted every year with several activities. Apart from that, important days like student's day, ethnic day, college day and other national days are celebrated grandiosely. Community programs like rural campus, blood donation camps are also held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure for the undergraduates are at a nominal rate while that for postgraduates is quite above normal. There are self finance and government aided departments for which the fee structure differents.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college sponsors a particular amount as a part of the tution fee for students who are economically weak and have a good merit.

Campus Life

3

Though extracurricular is very restricted,MSSW has NSS squad has Two labs for psychological testing has a decent ground for badminton, throw ball and volley ball. There are several clubs like eco club, anti narcotics club ,anti ragging club, blue cross etc. The college celebrates different festivals like Christmas, diwali,Onam and pongal with a gender ratio of 1500:700 (male:female) the campus functions harmoniously. There aren't strict dress codes tjoguht inappropriate attired are restricted.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilities are open to the undergraduates since this academic year which was only open to the postgraduates. There are adequate rooms for 200 to 300 people. The mess food is really abkve average when compared to other colleges haveing gotten reviews from other college hostelites.

Alumni/Alumna

Every year an alumini meeting is conducted when all the alumini come together to relive their college memories. The alumini have social networking groups and come together for community programs.

Exam Structure

Every semester has two internal as well as one external examination. The 2 internal examinations happen during the third and seventh weeks approximately. The external exams happen at the end of the semester. The UGs have six semesters while the PGs have four. The exam days were always chilled out with adequate days between each exam and the syllabus being manageable. The days of practical exams are also very stress free.

Faculty

3.5

During the first year the professors were really accommodating to make the students comfortable. The department faculty had adequate professors and we'll qualified at the same time. The department consists of both UG and PG psychology. The professors are divided for each course. The department consist of a total of 10 professors. Two of them are the head for each course UG and PG. They are really supportive and motivating and especially, empathetic. Though there is always a more than ususal attrition rate for the past one year recruitment of new and talent professors are taken care of immediately. This is the same structure in all other depaementa departments.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography, the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate, which helps in consistent preparation, however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning, and modern teaching methods

Course Curriculum Overview:

The courses are well structured and interesting espcially the social psychology and basic psychology papers. in a semester there are 2 internal exams and they will be at least a month apart from each other. as long as you study your course materials, the exams are pretty easy however otherwise it might be a tough one. the courses are well structured espcially the social and basic psychology. and in some semesters, there will be a reading period where students are encourged to go and read in the Library.. The Curriculum served as a base for Internships and basic understanding but it is required to do masters to get a job in psychology filed
